• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The fuel filler door!

In freezing temperatures with snow and ice build up, the door wouldn't push in and then spring open like normal.

I got it open by using my credit card to pop it open. No damage and not a big deal.

Love this car!!!

Not understanding "door push in and spring open"?

There is a actuator that pops open the gas door when you push it in. his got frozen

Ok, got it. I think with that much snow or ice, that could be a problem with any vehicle.

You know when the car is locked the fuel door is locked? When the car is unlocked the door will open like it should.

Yes. I'm aware of that. The build up of ice/snow around the edge/inside of the door wouldn't allow the door to be pushed in at all. A slight remedy would be if they put one of those small finger cutouts to pull the door open.

I disagree - the finger flair is a different mechanism- there is no actuator at all. The push and pop is a better design aesthetically, and I don’t think the pull out type locks when the car is locked. I believe there is a drain tube inside the door cavity to prevent water and ice build up. Make sure it is clear.

Nooooooo! 😂 I’ve been dealing with this same thing on my MDX for years now.

As someone who lives in the south, I am amazed by those of you who manage to live in places where parts of your car freeze and stop functioning. I'm pretty sure if it is that cold, I would stop functioning! I'm running a space heater at my feet right now because it is in the 50s. :ROFLMAO:

The flaw is their infotainment system...worst I've ever used.

It definitely takes some getting used to. There's also some customization that can be done to taylor it to your preference.

Is there anything specific you don't like?

Just an idea: Pretreat the area with a ⅓ part and ⅔ part isopropyl or rubbing alcohol together and pour into a spray bottle. You can spray the solution onto your windshield, wipe a small amount on cloth around the actuator and the fuel cap door? Diluted Antifreeze might work in a pinch as well.

The major points of frustration are all around the fact that they ignored how all other similar devices work. I gotta press the down arrow to go to the next station/track. However, the volume button works the opposite. Their media handling doesn’t support playlists?! Every car I ever owned that had support for digital media supported playlists. They also sort the presets by band/SAT and then numerically. It is silly and unnecessary. They obviously thought this was an enhancement as this certainly required extra code to implement. Literally every car I’ve owned (and there have been many) has allowed ME to define the order I want my presets in. It also frustrates me that as I use the arrows to move through the presets, it’ll move from SAT to AM to FM. I would imagine most users are like me. If I am listening to SAT, I only want to skip through those presets. If I need to change to a FM, I’ll use the ”Mode” button on the steering wheel (like all other cars work). There are other annoyances but these are the basics that frustrate me almost daily.

It really is a shame because it’s a great vehicle otherwise but these issues (where it seems Kia thinks they can do it “better” than every other manufacturer) hold it back in my mind. They went above and beyond with other unrelated features. It’s not like I am asking for additional functionality like wireless CarPlay…it is well within their power to fix these issues.

My biggest complaint about my telluride so far (just rolled over 1000 km) are the anchor points for the car mats. Every time I take the mats out to shake them off I end up dumping whatever was on the mats on to the carpeted floor.
