• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I was watching some YouTube videos today and noticed a couple of times there were ads for the Ford Explorer that were directly aiming at the Telluride shopper. The ad was comparing features between the two. Honestly thought, the Explorer is a relatively dated design and you see them a thousand times a day! Not so (yet) with the Telly.

Until Ford can figure out how to put a nice high quality interior in an explorer - it won't be a true competitor. The new Explorer is junk on the inside. Loved test driving the ST - but the interior is horrible.

Well junk may be to strong of a word....that would be more for something out of GM, but it is not a premium interior, those will be reserved for the Aviator.

Junk may be a strong word, but it’s justified for the price point of the Ford Explorer Platinum and ST trims. Which is a shame since I love the ST engine :(

Really wanted the ST but all of the reviews scared me away. I had a love hate relationship with my Evoque. Wanted reliability.

I test drove the Explorer and loved the engine, really nice "get up & go" to it. But the styling is kind of blah, and the interior is just a non-starter.

Yes but the Aviator interior is ludicrously better. They can step up the Explorer somewhat and still not encroach on the Aviator

Wow - they really directly call the Telly out multiple times.

Video link for those curious:

The Explorer outsells the Telly by a wide margin , so for them to reference the Telly competitively means they see it in the rearview !! Go Telly !!

I love the focus on automatic parallel parking. Granted, I have never lived in super urban/downtown areas...But I have legit had to parallel park like 2 times in my 20 years of driving so far. Such a useless feature for 90% of people.

......................do they have tents for the Explorer ??

I have that feature on my Chevrolet SS, and I have only used it to test how it works. Of course, it misjudged where the curb was and tried to run me into the curb. It also will reverse perpendicular park for you, which would maybe be nice, but it makes it into a three-point turn; I can do it in one shot on my own.

Ultimately, it’s just a way of saying that they have a feature, whether it is actually truly helpful or not.
