• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Our 2020 telluride (with hitch) was hit from the rear while parked. 20,000 dollars damage including to frame. Insurance company won’t write off. Looking at accelerated depreciation which insurance company also will not consider as of now.
not sure if it will be safe in a future rear ended collision. Any comments? Should we take the 18,000 hit and buy a new one?

The Telluride has unibody construction, not a traditional “frame”, so I wonder what this means in your case.

Unibody at back damaged 10 to 12 inch piece will Be cut out and two welds to attach the new piece.

Thanks - the hitch was pushed into the rear by the collision and created holes in the unibody So they now say two pieces have to be cut out and replaced. If it were not for those holes they could have used the straightener.
