• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... First time KIA owner, 2025 Xline 30K miles. bought used at 10K. noticed a thump/boom from the read end when accelerating from a stop. worse/louder when going up a hill. Call my local dealer, when i described it to the service manager he immediately said rear shocks, common issue. took it to service, tech drove and confirmed. they had to order new shocks. next week took it back to install. thump persists. took it back to service. tech and i drove around and he hear/feel it. he put it on the lift and brought me out to the bay. said could find nothing that could make the sound. no loose bolts. drive shaft was not loose or tight. he even took a bolt out of the rear diff and saw no shavings. he nor the service manager had any ideas on what it could be.

Surely another owner has dealt with this and has a suggestion. should i take it to another dealer? any TSBs that i could suggest?

TIA

My 24 Telly (23K miles) just started doing the same. From what I've read; it's (what I would call) the transfer case. IDK what it's called in Kia Speak.

Always with a moderate power application, turning and coming away from a complete stop.

Search the threads, it's in there my friend.

My 2024 with 51k has similar symptoms. Took it to two dealers, first couldn’t replicate noise. Second said it was normal and declined to test drive. Could be the AWD coupler but a related TSB shows a different type of sound, more of a regular clicking sound not the sporadic jolts and knocks of this issue. Try pulling the AWD fuse and see if the knocking stops when accelerating slowly.

have them look a the AWD coupler
I just had mine replaced at 53,000 miles. It was covered under warrantee. also had to have the AC fixed ( bad O ring ) and the rear wiper motor bracket broke and had to be replaced. Weird that all this happened when the vehicle hit 50,000 miles.

I don’t know if this is the same but I have a 2021 Telluride SX-P and there was a knocking or bumping from the rear of the vehicle. I took it in to my dealer and they determined it was my rear shock absorbers (both sides). They replaced under warranty.
