  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Ordered our 2022 Telluride SX Prestige AWD in July and have/had an ETA of 11/14 for delivery. Unfortunately, we won't be taking delivery of this vehicle and will likely have to start the ordering process (and wait) all over again since the order entry was screwed up. Throughout this arduous process, our sales rep has been less than forthcoming with any information or updates, and I had resorted to talking directly to the GM at the dealership for status updates. Yesterday I asked the GM for an update, and he informed me my car would arrive soon and started going through some of the specs from the VIN/window sticker. Turns out "someone" made a mess of my order and it's equipped with the Nightfall package (not wanted), and missing many of the extras such as side step bars, scuff plates, cargo cover, light kit, etc. The GM owned the mistake on the Nightfall error, and told me that the missing options are a result of Kia not accepting orders for options due to availability of parts. For those of you lucky enough to have received your new ride, did you get all of your options, or are you hearing the same story? At this point, we're disappointed with the Kia buying experience and on the fence about sticking with it as we wait for the GM to let us know where we stand on a reorder.

Focus on the list that has to come from the factory and how bad you want each item. Floor boards for example, on a car that sits pretty low to begin with, I have no interest in them. On my F150, sure, they are handy. Your list is going to be different than mine!

I certainly would NOT pay for NF if you don't want it. Thats an expensive option. My order included only three options, NF, tow package and wheel locks. Telluride came with those three items and no other surprise options. And I just got it this week, so thats a pretty new data point. I kind of expected it to have the optional floor mats, but it did not. Fine by me as I had already bought a set of smart liners and the Canadian cargo mat.

If I were you, I'd want a screen shot of what they ordered. I got one early in the process, so no later surprises.

I have noticed from several people that side boards and scuff plates are currently not being installed by Kia. It's all a matter of timing. It appears if they are out of those parts, they aren't waiting on them to keep the orders processing and moving on as they can still be added later on. I assume once those parts come in, then they will start adding them again.

Have you thought about purchasing the vehicle that's coming soon, then selling or trading it when the reorder comes in? You'll likely be able to get what you paid for it, if not more.

I hadn't thought about buying and selling once a new order comes in. Since my original post, the GM at my local dealership informed me I would have to start the whole process again, or he would be happy to give me my deposit back. I opted for the deposit return and will go in another direction. Thanks for the responses/suggestions.
