GA102 - Go with higher volume dealer or stay with current order?

The good thing is that the vehicle my wife has is going to my daughter and it’s reliable so I’m really in no rush other than it’s time for my wife to get her upgrade. A couple more months isn’t going to change anything and there is the added benefit of stacking more money. I already have it locked in at MSRP and I can see SXP NFE in failcat so it’ll be fine. I’ll be patient. This dealer is about 30 minutes from home abs about 4 hours from the West Point factory so those are all good things

What color is yours inside/out, so I can keep checking too? Not quite exciting as watching for my own car, but living vicariously....

Gravity Gray with black interior (have 2 kids so we didn’t want gray and wife didn’t like brown) only option we didn’t get was Tow. I check every now and then just to confirm SXPs are showing up but the order manager has my cell phone and I’ve been in touch with him in addition to the salesman so I’m expecting to get a text that the order is picked up long before I see it in failcat.

I spoke with the order manager and yeah, basically their allocation is small for this month so mine didn’t get picked up this month. It should be picked up in August but anything is possible. The problem with going to another dealer now is that they are just about all doing markups. The only one I’m hearing that’s not is Ed Voyles in chamblee but they are asking like a 3k deposit. I’ll wait until next month and see what happens.

The Ed Voyles deposit is refundable, though, right? I called over there and spoke to a salesperson. To his credit, he stood up for the other dealer and said there's a lot of uncertainty in timing, but I assume Ed Voyles is higher volume.

Ed Voyles is a $2K deposit that is fully refundable. I am in with them now. Their quote to me was 4-6 months.

That’s my understanding yes. It’s refundable. And yes Ed Voyles chamblee definitely has higher volume.

So I found this VIN on failcat (https://www.kia.com/us/services/us/windowsticker/load/5XYP5DHC9NG209342 ) and I did some checking on the stats for this dealer and this is literally the only combo like it in the last year for this dealership, it’s exactly what I ordered and I reached out to the dealer to see what they have to say because the odds that someone else got this exact same order 3 before me would be very surprising.

Confirmed, it is in fact my Telly!! That said I wonder why they didn’t contact me when the order was picked up but that’s a different question. Let’s see what happens when it’s time to pick it up. I’ll keep this thread updated!

Kind of similar to what happened with mine. I didn't get picked up in June KFOS, why the hell did my VIN show up on 7/6? Congrats either way!

I wish I had a good answer but I’m either case I’m just glad I was an informed buyer to know to check these things. We’ll see what actually ends up happening. Appreciate the good vibes!

Well it finally arrived. Almost exactly 4 months from order date. My wife is thrilled! I surprised her by bringing it home and she had no idea the order had been picked up.

Congrats! Was the dealership ultimately good to work with other than the wait? No suprises at pick-up? I was considering trying to put in an order with them, not sure if they are still doing msrp..

I believe they are but definitely best to contact them. And yeah pick-up went well and they even allowed me to leave my other vehicle on the lot to surprise my wife. Overall I was very satisfied with the experience. Took about 4 months from order to delivery.
