If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I know we have very little info until an official reveal, but from the tiny bit that’s dribbled out about the GV80, it looks disappointing to me so far. Why?

- Base engine is 4 cyl. Yeah, it’s a turbo and has a bit more power and torque than the Telluride/Palisade engine, but... 4 cyl. Yuck. And you know the 6 will be part of an expensive option package.

- No 3rd row!!! Really?

- The round shifter dial is less attractive than the Palisade’s pushbutton shifter.

- Speaking of less attractive... as the camouflage is starting to come off, it looks like the GV80 could be a nice looking vehicle, a bit like the Telluride. Then, from certain angles, you can see that the rear window has that ugly, small, triangle rear. Like the C-Pillar chrome “stripe” in the Palisade, it’s gonna make the whole vehicle uglier.

- Is that a physical needle I see on the speedometer in one of the interior pics? C’mon Hyundai... the whole line should have a full digital dash.

Looks like I’m sticking with the Telluride and even the Palisade over the GV80.

Convince me otherwise, Hyundai.

You should have ordered your Telluride back in April with us! But you thought you could get 6k off sticker. Anyway, there's probably a Genesis forum with more info. Interesting info about GV 80 though. Different market than Telluride or Palisade... maybe they are going after Q5 and X3 / X5 owners.

Nothing wrong with a 4 cyl turbo.
There IS a 3rd row.
Dash will be digital...what you are seeing is the digital dash emulating a traditional setup.

There is a 3 row in GV80. There will be 3.8 litres V6 and V8 and 3.3 twin turbo engine.
As far the size goes it will be a mid 3 row SUV very similar to the size of Telluride or Palisade.
It is not competing against Durango or Explorer or Traverse.
It is competing against the big players like XC 90, X5, Q7 etc.
GV80 will start from 47K$ and will go upto 75K$.
You can consider upgrading in 2021 as GV 80 will be for sale from March 2021.

Hopefully, the higher end buyer who is attracted to the Telluride will go with this instead! If people are waiting 4-6 months for an SX, something is going to have to give!

MT SUV of the Year, Car & Driver 10 best and KBB Award are only going to make things worse. Kia needs a distraction for potential buyers.

I think GV80 will look fine based on what I've seen thus far.

So, I got a bit of flame in this thread (we cool, all in fun), but I wasn’t entirely wrong...

It’s been established the base model will have some analog gauges.

There are apparently going to be two row AND three row configurations available. I’m sure the three row config will add some decent $$$ to the price.

Still not wowed. I actually think both the Palisade and definitely the Telluride are better looking, and as is usually the case with luxury versions of mainstream vehicles, I’m thinking the vehicle will likely be smaller inside and out compared to the Telluride/Palisade. I will say that if they can hold the pricing to high 40s to low 60s as some sites are speculating, that’s not too bad. I’m thinking more like low 50s to 70ish, but I thought for sure the loaded Pali/Telly would be $50,000 and got proved wrong there.

Very interested to see the official reveal and pricing...

The GV80 will simply be the vehicle that has a bit more luxury combined with a more powerful engine. Lots of folks have speculated on Twin Turbo V6 for Telluride/Palisade - but I think the GV80 will provide that desired performance for more $$$. Kind of like Audi Q7 to VW Atlas. The active noise cancellation technology looks interesting - if it makes it into US spec models. We shall see! Some cutting edge features, but surely it will be priced high to compete directly with Volvo, BMW and Audi lineups. I would pick one up - but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be disappointed when the price is announced (will likely be in the 50-70 range as you noted). Maybe a few years down the road when they are running lease specials or knocking a chunk off the top.

Honestly, if my wife’s SX order doesn’t come in before this is announced, we’ll likely pass on it for a GV80. I had a 2017 G80 and loved it, I’m actively looking into getting another one.

If the leases are in the same ballpark, it’s an easy choice. Frankly, if they intend to move cars, they’ll need to be in the same neighborhood since an SXP leases for morr than MDX, XC90, QX60, and close to X5 and GLE money.
