• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anybody know the best way to get to the harness behind the main USB port? Pictures, guides? I have seen a couple of threads, where replacing the harness solved the Andriod Auto problem I am having. Their dealer said it could be pinched. I wanted to check myself. I have an appointment with the dealer, but who knows if they will check that if I tell them.

Just checking, were you able to make any progress on this? Every now and then when I close the arm-rest console cover (especially with force), Carplay will disconnect. It seems very consistent with a cable being pinched or a loose connection. Thanks!

Nope. And the dealer hasn't replaced it.

Thanks for the quick response! Appreciate it. I'm hoping to take a closer look sometime soon. I'll let you know if I make any meaningful progress.

I'm still not 100% sure it's a cable problem. It's never disconnected with an Apple device (just Android for me). And a reboot of the phone allows it to reconnect (without even messing with the cable). Idk, it's frustrating though

Yeah, that may be a different root cause compared to mine. In fact, I think I've experienced multiple different problems contributing to disconnects. At one point it was disconnecting frequently, almost every hour of driving (with Carplay). That lasted for weeks, but then it just magically stopped happening, which I suspect is likely a software thing (app or OS update may have cured it). Now it only disconnects (sometimes) when I close the armrest/console lid, which feels more like a cabling or connector thing.
