I was pleasantly surprised to see an email for the Telluride I ordered back on 1/2/22 has an ETA and is scheduled to arrive on 3/30.! Couldn't be happier that I finally know it is actually getting made. It is an S AWD Deep Moss/black interior with Tow Hitch. It is not in failcat as far as I can tell yet. I was getting a bit concerned it wouldn't show up in time, I am leaving this city end of April but luckily it sounds like it will be here before I depart. How many have experienced delays from the ETA.? The salesman said it could arrive earlier or later. I am in South Florida, so fairly close to the GA plant. I also was concerned if it didn't get picked up soon, that I might be auto upgraded to a 2023 model, and I have seen only some leaked photos but I do not think I like the vertical headlight change. Hard to tell through all the blackout coverings on the spy photos.

So that is only going to be a 3 month wait (approx). That makes me feel hopeful as I just placed my order this week.
Ya I wanted to share so anyone else waiting the long wait might get an idea of what current turnaround times are. The salesman said it could even arrive sooner, or later, so I just hope it wont be a month or two later.! And I don't even want it to show up too soon since I am now going to list my current car for sale to get it gone and have more for the down payment on the new car.

How did you get such a fast turnaround when you just ordered in January? You dealership have no wait list? Just curious. Also did you pay MSRP? or did they have a markup?

I don't think your situation is current turnaround time. You probably got someone's order that backed out.

Salesman didn't specify, said "good news your telluride now has an eta", so it's mine now. I'll ask him when I talk to him next and see if they even can tell you if it was someone else's that they decided to back out of. Coincidental timing I guess since I just got a response from a Kia Exec after emailing the factory and they asked me what dealer I placed the order with and that they would look into see where it is in production and 72 hours later I get an email with an ETA.... I'll take it anyway I can get it.

They have a number of orders in, not sure how many people are waiting. I see Tellurides pop up on failcat for them fairly frequently but none have been mine and still mine doesn't show up. I will pay basically $3,100 over msrp with a required $249 "Zurich protection package" (included in 3100 price )that they dont seem to be willing to remove but its only $249 so whatever, all the dealerships I called said any where from $4500 to 15k over msrp was their prices. So I got a "deal". haha

Not necessarily. I ordered 1-25-22 and my ETA is 3-29-22. I special ordered with side bars so I know they don’t have many of those just laying around.

I tried to order with crossbars for the roof-rack and they said the system wouldn't allow them to be added at the time, I guess the factory was out of them.?! Kinda not fair since now I can order them once they are available but then they are more expensive, I should get the same price since they weren't available at the time I ordered. At least they could add the trailer hitch, that was higher priority on my want list. I debated ordering with the side steps but I have yet to see a photo of a telluride with factory sidesteps.! I usually like the look, but again I figured I could add them after and didn't want to risk delaying the order. I hear the less special options you add, the faster the car can be turned around.

Wow. That stinks! Yes, I think you should have got the same price. Hm. I’ve seen some with side steps and I have some photos on my phone but they aren’t my vehicle and probably not a good look for me to post someone else’s Telly. Lol. As soon as mine comes in I will definitely post a pic tho! I’m not sure about special ordering slowing down the process. I think it depends on the dealer. We special ordered. They quoted us 12-16 weeks and it’s on it way to the dealership in a month. Hopefully arrives sooner than expected bc the factory is only 4.5 hours from us. :)

That's awesome. The dealership down here in South Florida said ordering the higher trim levels usually takes longer to get, so I ordered the S but had to at least get it in AWD with the Tow hitch.! I would have loved to order higher up the food chain but didn't want to wait 8 months and get gouged even harder. At least the dealership I ordered from only charges one set "market adjustment" price. A few dealers I talked to were going to charge 10k over msrp for an S, 12k over for an EX and 15k over if I wanted an SX.!!! Now way....! The S will do just fine. And I think one of the best things Kia did with the Telluride is offer all trims with the same exact engine/transmission, don't have to regret not paying extra for the "better" engine.

These markups are wild. Ours was not quite as bad as everyone else’s so I’m thankful for that. However, we did have an addendum. A small addendum. We opted for the EXP with NF and tow but I have seen so many ppl say not to get that and just get SX. Oh well, maybe next year!

Ya if there were no markups and not crazy wait times, my Ideal version would have been the SX with just the tow package. I actually like how the regular SX looks with the black rims it comes with more than what the SX looks like with the NF package, and most of the stuff in the prestige package I don't really care for personally. First time my S needs new tires, Black rims are going on it. Haha, I think it really looks great with the DeepMoss and the black rims.

Just got another email from the Kia Exec saying "your Telluride is scheduled to be produced in mid-March with an ETA to the dealer of 3/30.", so I am assuming it was the one I ordered and not someone else that backed out since I gave him my order ref number, but who knows, either way, my Telly is coming. Haha

That's amazing how are you getting such quick direct emails from a KIA executive? You two are some lucky ducks!

Ya I don't know.!? haha, I was surprised to even get a reply when I hit the "contact us" on the kiageorgia.com site and then when the response came just a few days later, the persons title was something like Executive director of logistics or distribution or something. And then I replied and got another response within 3 days telling me that the order was going to start production mid march and had the eta of 3/30. I guess they really strive for customer satisfaction.
I did reply a third time with a thank you and threw in a little comment about how the dealerships down here are going nuts with their "market adjustments" and hopefully that will calm down soon, but haven't gotten a reply on that one. Haha, I have seen other car makers saying they are going to start punishing dealerships for doing these things by holding out sending them new cars, so maybe kia will start the same. I heard Hyundai make a release saying they will start punishing dealers cause it is making the brand look bad and since they own part of Kia, maybe they will do the same.

edit: This was the email on the kia Georgia website that I initially emailed my question to: KMMGPR@kiageorgia.com.

My initial question was when are the 2023 models going to start rolling out and that I had placed an order on 1/2/22 and was concerned it might not get made before the 23's start to come out and that I "LOVED" the look of the 22 and was hoping mine would still be a 22 and that I wouldn't get auto upgraded to the new year if my order wasn't started till may or June. That's when I got a reply asking me what dealer I placed the order with and that they would look into it. By the way the reply was that June is when the 23's would start coming out. Not sure if that means that is when they start arriving at dealerships or that is when they switch to producing the 23 year model and they might not get out to dealers till august or so...

There was a very large number that was on the paper from my dealership on the top right of the printout they gave me when i gave them a deposit that says "Request was added" and then like a 15 digit number in parenthesis that starts with the dealer code. The paper they gave me itself says "KUS WEB DCS" on the top of it so not sure if this is the printout from what they call the Kdealer program or KFOS, no idea about that stuff. haha

I see you ordered 9 days ago, I dont think emailing this kia georgia email address will produce any results for you yet. There is no way there has been movement on an order in 9 days. I waited almost 2 months after asking my local dealer 2x if they knew anything and the response was not yet both times and even then I waited 4 weeks before my first inquiry to my local dealer.

No I was not going to email them. I was just curious- I do have what I think is an order number that starts with the dealer code.

That's probably the same number that I used. They didn't even ask me for an order number, I just gave them that if it would help make it easier to track it down.

Ya I would say wait a month and ask the dealership if they have any info, and if they don't then maybe try the kia Georgia plant email after a little bit, they also have a phone number on the contact us section on that website you could try.

I am not sure about how the order system works right now, but from reading posts on this forum from a year ago, they say that when you go to a dealer and place your order, it goes into the "kdealer" system which is basically a wait list of all the orders the dealership has taken. Then once a month, the "KFOS" system opens up in the middle of the month and allows dealerships to place orders into it from their kdealer list and they go in the order of customers on the kdealer list. So if they only can order 4 of the trim level you order and you are 5th in line, your order wont get into KFOS for that month and it will have to wait till the middle of next month. Since you ordered on 2/18, I would be under the impression that the earliest it could get into KFOS would be middle of march.

This could be completely wrong in 2022, and/or you might already know all of this from seeing other posts on here about the order process, but this is how I understand it from reading those posts. Your dealer probably won't have an update until at least mid/end March.

At least the wait allows you to research and order a bunch of accessories.! Haha, the first week I placed the order for the car I already ordered all the floorliners and LED headlamp bulb replacements and a bunch of other car light replacements. They have been sitting under a bed and in a box ever since awaiting the arrival.! Someday it will come. ;)
