• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The Nav unit in the car can't go from A to B without losing track of where the car is. Our position on the screen moves to a nearby road, and the GPS keeps saying 'recalculating' as it suggests a route to get me back on the route I'm already on. This is happening on just about every route we travel.
Any suggestions?

This was the first sign that the head unit was going bad on my 2020, the second was the clock showing the wrong time. I had to have it replaced out of factory warranty, luckily I had the extended warranty. Hopefully your issue will be something easier to fix. Good luck!

Just wanted to bump this up - I have noticed that my GPS location has been very poor. I first thought it was an issue with my phone because I always use Carplay but noticed now that it happens without phone plugged in.

Anyone else having this issue? My location seems to drift every now and then. At the same time my phone location (if plugged in) is also off. When unplugging my phone it will automatically find the right location again.

Mine constantly drifts, and I've seen posts from others about this too. My GPS is unusable because it keeps directing my to turn, or take a highway exit, because it assumes I'm off course. Someone posted that this also causes Google Maps (via CarPlay) to do the same thing,
The fix is said to be a replacement of the Nav unit.
Mine goes to the dealer this week, but the tech seems to think all he has to do is update to the latest software, so this will be another multi-visit fix.

Mine is having this issue also! It started a couple of months ago but I kept forgetting to post about it. I feel like I first noticed it when I got on the iOS 16 beta over the summer actually. Is anyone here having this issue and having an android phone?

Yes, the software update had no impact. New head unit has been ordered under warranty.
Great. I go for an oil change next weekend. Time to prepare myself.

I’m out of warranty because of the mileage but I have the extended warranty so I’ll be using that.

Has anyone continued to have this issue after updating to the latest software for the head unit?

Had my head unit replaced...first they check the software then the gps antenna then some wires then they order the head unit.. i wasnt sure it was the head unti but i remember my xm stations used to record before u are actually listening to that station and that wasnt happening plus the speed in the maps was not there...so im happy now... mines 2022.. still under warranty.. those updates f u c k up the head until in opinion ... or mayb not...

Wow yours is a 2022 and that already happened? That’s crazy. I’m hoping this isn’t a widespread issue. Mine is a 2020.

Yes sir... 2022..
My location messed up here n there. But not often
Then in the last couple of months it had gotten very aggressive. So i went to the dealer after it got really bad.. i imagine its just a small few numbers. The dealership i went to had never seen this before..

Our 2022 EX is having what appears to be the same issue. The GPS is stuck at a location and doesn't change, so Navigation does not know what to do. Also the clock doesn't work, even after the dealership restarted the head unit and set the clock. The car was delivered to the original owner in late July 2022. We just bought it with 6K miles in mid November, but of course didn't notice it until after we drove home. It is looking like the head units have a poor history and Kia should be well aware of it.

Mine hadn’t seen the issue before either. They also couldn’t replicate it so they did nothing. I’ll have to wait until it gets worse.

This post has more details. I had this problem and it was solved by replacing the GPS module.

My 2024 Telluride 7500mi has GPS location frozen in last known location, clock not showing the time and CarPlay won’t work. Seems like this issue has carried over to the new design head units since the 2023 refresh…
