• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Like others here I am reluctant to cut/tap into the factory wiring for the audio system and since I could not find one commercially available yet, I went ahead and made my own breakout harness for the Harman Kardon amplifier in my SX. I plan to install a new amp/dsp in a few months and this was the first step in my process. Bottom line it permits installation of aftermarket audio components without cutting/tapping of factory wires while also maintaining full use of that same factory wiring for speakers (we've seen elsewhere the challenges of running new speaker wire out into the doors). Thus far it works flawlessly with all channels intact for this particular connector...the center channel and front tweeter channels are located on the 2nd amp connector (w/inputs, pwr, gnd, etc), but I do not plan to use those in my future setup (disabled and crossover, respectively).

From there you just tap into the wires? Man very useful.......Just install aftermarket amp and door speakers and your set. Even a DSP. You making these? I'm waiting on my SX X-Line. If you are, I would like to buy one from you.

Bump!

Yes, you would just cut into this harness for your install instead of the factory wiring. If you plan to keep your aftermarket equipment when you finally move on from your Telly, simply remove this harness and plug the factory connector back into the amp and it's right back to stock.

There was a min quantity purchase for the connectors so I do have extra parts on-hand to make a couple more harnesses if there is any interest out there in the community.

I’d purchase one as well. Please send me PM

How does this set up sound?
I love it. It bumps with my Rockford Punch P3's. Hits hard. Getting my SX Xline soon so I'm going to rip everything out. That's why I needed the harness.

@Socal949 I just upgraded my sounds a bit more now I have the breakout harness. I bought Focal speakers all the way around. I also added a Folcal 4ch amp. The best thing ever made is my DSP rockford DSR1. Thing tunes the stock deck to perfection. I will post pics when its completed.

Would love some more detail on the install to any wiring information you had or found out for doing the setup would be appreciated

Yes...would like to see everyone's installs either here on in their own thread. I finally finished my basic upgrade last week just before hitting the road for spring break with the family. I can now completely drown out my screaming kids by cranking up the volume.

@HLXHLX @Socal949 @KROD

Here it is:
Running the breakout harness to my Focal K2 Speakers all the way around and Folcal K2 tweeters. Also a Focal 4ch amp..... Pushing the 2 12's P3 rockfords with a rockford 1000 watt amp and ofcourse my rockford DSR1 DSP but can see because its hidden. Isolator and everything running off it's own battery Yellow Optima Didn't need the cap anymore since I went with the isolator. FYI had to cut a square in the custom carpeted board for the spare tire release .....LMAO

Looks clean man are you powering the doors via the stock wiring with the harness? Did you find that you needed the battery or just wanted to have it there just in case?

Might have to come meet you if your out in Houston to hear how this setup sounds. I'm out in Austin.

no put new wiring all the way around to power the folcals. Hell yeah we can meet up. The Breakout harness helps. Makes everything seamless. @HLXHLX even labeled everything on each wire. Front Left, Front right....etc. wire color coating all same.

Hi! Are these harnesses still available? I am going to use your setup as a guide cause I think its the cleanest solution.
