Interesting situation yesterday. My phone slid down between the console and the drivers seat yesterday. Went to grab the phone (was very tight) while driving but could not get my hand back (even without the phone). Seems my hand got stuck on something under the seat lining. Unable to move it forward or backward had to literally pull my hand out with force which left my wrist scratched and bloody. Fair warning. If you drop something don't do what I did and instead stop, get off the seat and reach under the front of back of the seat to get the item.

That is really funny. Never considered posting it but I had the exact same happen to me. Phone slipped out of pants. Happens pretty often unfortunately but never had my hand straight up get stuck down there. The phone didn't fall fully so I couldn't get it from below. Reached down with what I remember was very little resistance then just STUCK. Like a finger trap thing or something. Bizarre. Just had to yank it out and gave myself a few little bleeding cuts on the way out. Will not put my hand down there again... First car I have had that happen in. Must be a slightly tapered design or something.

Yep same exact thing happen to me as well.

I think it just has an odd taper to the plastic that grabs onto you. It really hurt!!! Lol. So odd but I will admit to being stuck.

Good to know! Thanks!

Same thing happen to me too. Gap guard might be a great idea with this happening to so many people!

Edit: just ordered a gap guard from Amazon.

Mind the gap...we've called it the "black hole" in my family for years, so we basically just laugh at each other whenever something falls down there. We've learned to leave whatever falls until the next stop when we can just reach under the seat and grab it without the guaranteed hand-damage that ensues when one tries to venture into a black hole...

I knew a person, will not say the name to protect the innocent, so this person, who should remain nameless, got their hand stuck in the "black hole" so badly the seat had to be unbolted and removed. Sigh, by the fire department. You see, the person really did try to pull the hand free, but the hand was not coming free. So when there was a mention of blood and at a public rest stop, well the fire department was called. Not by the person that got their hand stuck. The person was trying to explain that the fire department was unnecessary, if only someone would go into the trunk, get the tools out of it, and unbolt the seat. Nope fire departments. Lights and everything.

5 minutes later, hand was free, blood soaked carpet, and one dislocated digit, but self respect was never found. This was almost 20 years ago, and the person that shall remain nameless, still has scars from it.

NEVER CHASE ANYTHING INTO THE GAP.

Hahahah omg thanks for the laugh. Self-respect is long gone in the black hole... :ROFLMAO:

Sorry to hear this .... I guess the person with no name and no face (GOT reference) can never forget this incident from 20 yr ago...

My gap guard just arrived. Very tight near the front and somewhat loose in the rear. As long as it stays put I guess the blackhole is now considered managed. LOL
My gap guard is shown but hard to see due to late afternoon sun.

Man I just did that last week, if you drop your phone Do Not try to grab it by sliding your hand in there, specially if you are driving you might meet Mayhem! Lol
