• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Our Telluride is coming in soon (hopefully later this week) and I'd like to prevent those scratches that crop up in the door handle pockets. Has anybody here bought protectors?

What I can find from some Googling:

Wildly unhelpful accessory website, I have no clue how to buy them or how many come with the purchase - Door Handle Pocket Protector, Clear Appliqué - Kia 2021 Telluride Accessory - OURISMAN CHANTILLY KIA

Lamin-X, this one seems the most promising - Kia Telluride (20- ) Door Handle Cup Paint Protection

Premium Gard, "Protects your vehicle from getting scratch".... sus af - 2020+ KIA TELLURIDE Clear Paint Protection Film Door Handle Cup set of 4Default Title

Yes, I had them put on when I got my Telly ceramic coated. Since mine is Dark Moss I figured that ring or fingernail scratches would show real easy. The place that did my coating charged me $35 for them installed. Worth the money.

How much was your exterior protection total? Can't drop a huge amount after fully-paying off this bad boy, but I'd like to know for the future

There is a lot of discussion of PPF and ceramic in this thread including pricing: 2021 Telluride Detailing Thread

Your price may vary but I paid $700 for front protection and a few extra bucks for door pockets. I had PPF and ceramic coating done at Midwest Clear Bra in Plymouth. Vehicle Protection Experts - MidWest Clear Bra

They perform paint correction by cleaning the paint with detailing clay then polish it prior to putting on the the PPF or ceramic coating. Factory paint is never perfect and never really flat. You can see the imperfections with a detailing light. Once it's clean and smooth, the film will cover nicely. Ceramic coating is even better.

If you plan on using automatic car washes, you probably don't want to spend the $$ on professional ceramic because the harsh chemicals will wear it off prematurely. If you aren't going to hand wash, I would recommend using something like the Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic Spray wax or the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic wax rather than obsolete technology like paint sealant or carnauba wax. That way you can occasionally clean with clay in between annual detailing when you polish the paint. You'll have to use the spray on stuff nearly after nearly every wash, the automatic car washes will strip that off quickly. That will keep it protected and nice looking throughout the year. When the wax is fresh you'll see how very hydrophobic the paint will be and you'll get familiar with how it starts to degrade after so many washes at the car wash place.

One other suggestion would be to have them put PPF on the piano black trim on the B and C pillars because they tend to scratch when you breathe on them ;) Mine stay nice and shiny as a result. I didn't have them put PPF on any of the other piano black trim only because their software doesn't have patterns for them.

Wow, extremely informative thank you! Lots to contemplate now, I wasn't even thinking about most of what you mentioned!

I had ceramic coating, door pockets, front windows tinted and a tint brow on the front window and it was $1130.00 total.
