• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... hello everyone. wondering if the headlights on the 2023 S illuminate enough for nighttime driving. I haven't been able to test drive at night so I want to make sure they will illuminate enough. I know on older models, that people were complaining they weren't bright enough and also had trouble with illuminating on the side as well. Would love some feedback before I finalize with a deposit on a 2023 S. thanks

I think that was because previous S models had halogen headlights versus LED. I could be wrong, but pretty sure that was the main issue I saw. In order to get LED headlights, you had to upgrade to the EX with Premium package or SX models.

Looks like LED projector headlights are standard now on all models

Ok thanks. Do the LED lights provide good illumination?

Mine do a pretty good job IMO. I have a '22 SXP with fog lights which provide a bit more light as well. I swapped my own halogen bulbs in my 2013 Explorer to LED bulbs before trading it in and they were significantly better than the halogens the car came with. Brighter, better coverage, etc.

thanks. i do wish I could have driven at night but the dealerships close before it gets dark.

The problem with that is that you need to get out of the city to really test headlights. Anyway, maybe the dealer will let you take a car for overnight?

When i picked up my SXP, I had to drive it home at night, through the mountains in the rain. The LED headlights were an incredible improvement over my Durango's halogens. I'm sure the oncoming traffic wasn't as fond of them as I was, though.

I think you will be fine. Maybe change the

Pretty much the same scenario for me as well driving from Groton, CT to central PA with my SXP. Finished up late in the afternoon in Nov '22 and then drove 6 hrs home transitioning from daytime, twilight, and night during the drive. Was a great drive all the way home. Loved playing with the technology during the drive and the brightness and coverage of the LED headlights.

Glad I found this thread. Thanks to everyone who responded here!

Led headlights are good, perhaps too good. They tend to annoy oncoming drivers more than others and can be fine tuned with some dealer adjustments if your getting flashed back. There are a few post about this on other threads
