• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all!

Brand new owner, just picked up the new SX-P Telluride with Wolf Grey / Black. Super excited, we waited 4 months for this!

When our family hopped in to check out the new car, my wife immediately noticed something that I didn't even think to really focus on when receiving the vehicle. Seems that the grey headliner has a whole lot of "fingerprints" and streaks on it that don't seem to want to "self-correct" by manipulating the microfiber. Some of these almost look like someone with dirty hands ran them all over while cleaning the interior of the car. I'm not looking for perfection here, and I know there will always be some artifacts (kinda like floors that you just vacuumed), but this seems... worse than that.

Anyone else experience this? Should I ask the dealership to do something? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Kevin

Not a big deal. So many other products from shoes to couches act like that.

Maybe it's just more noticeable because you went with the light-colored headliner and the ambient light coming through your windows casts shadows, higher contrast?

Mine is the same way. It doesn’t smooth out.

okay thanks for the info. Guess it’s common enough. I fiddled with it a bit and it’s not terrible. I can live with it.

Do you think it’s possible to order that dark liner for installation?

Anything's possible, but it might be expensive for all the different pieces that have the dark premium cloth microfiber material. It's on the flip down sunshades, A-pillars, not just one piece.

I think it would be more trouble than anything.

I specifically chose the Dune Brown option because it was the only way to get the premium dark headliner when built at the factory.

Maybe just try to get used the the headliner?

You like everything else about the car right?

Yeah, likely not worth the headache, that's for sure. I do looove everything else about the car, so I'm going to turn down the threshold on that item. Not really a major deal. Thanks for the feedback!

Have you tried a lint brush? I think another owner on this forum said it works.

We have the same issue… brand new SX-P had finger marks and lines throughout the headliner. We hate the headliner due to this and would prefer something standard that didn’t have this issue. I am going to try the lint brush to “smooth” it out and will report back.

Light or dark headliner?

If you have a baby brush, it does a decent job at smoothing it out. Pics attached. This is me just spending a few seconds on it.
