Hearing SX Model No Longer In Production

For the past week or so, my Kia dealer in NJ has been telling me that Kia won’t be making the SX Prestige model/package anymore, due to chip delays (you know). And, that the order they tried placing end of August, can’t be completed…because Kia is no longer accepting orders for SX Prestige. Supposedly this was confirmed by head of production for Kia.
Anyone else getting fed the same info??
If not, any dealers in PA or NJ willing to order me a black SX model with gray interior and prestige package?? I’m willing to wait.

I'd call BS on this. But I'm not a dealer, so I can't be sure. Seems new models show up daily in Failcat though...

In this case, I am pleased to be offering my 2022 SX-P for the very reasonable sum of $100,000. Seriously though, Kia would not abandon their top of the line Telluride. Will they shift orders if there are specific chips needed for the SX that are not required in the other trims? Sure. Would this introduce unforseen SX build delays, sure. But it doesn't mean they will no longer make the SX.

Sounds questionable to me also, though I suppose it's possible if chip supplies are dwindling and the SX Prestige is particularly chip-intensive. Other manufacturers have started to de-content vehicles by eliminating chip-related options; insofar as Kia offers packages rather than discrete options, this might their way to accomplish the same objective. Still, I don't think I'd take a dealer's word for it.

As for VINs still appearing in failcat, I'd assume that it would take some time for the existing inventory of SX Prestige models to get allocated and invoiced to dealers and therefore added to failcat.

I agree that we have a long time of getting worse before it gets better. I just hope KIA doesn't start doing what GM is doing and cutting features out of the Telly just to put stripped down versions of the car out. My current vehicle is still running so I will just be patient and wait, but my hobbies and activities have changed such that I need a reasonably sized SUV or something that can tow. And yes I think I've watched every videos of the Telluride!!!

This is exactly what I was afraid of and hope it's not true. Above is an interaction I had a couple weeks ago with someone where I predicted this. I also ordered 23 August and waiting on an SX prestige. I'm supposed to get an update from my dealer tomorrow so I'll post if I hear anything.

Interesting because I would agree with that. I see Pallisades everywhere. Too bad I don't like the Pallisade. There are some Tellurides around - and thanks I'm hoping to have a VIN soon but not holding my breath!!

I would believe that they would have to supply you a loaner till the repair is done if it causes the vehicle to not be driven .
If it is ture , we will see .

I just ordered a 2022 Kia SX Prestige Nightfall edition for December delivery. So yeah, they are still taking orders. Friendly Kia in New Port Richey, Fl.

I ordered an SX (T/NF) from Travis at Lancaster Kia in PA, with a 3-5 month delivery estimate at MSRP on 15 Sep. No complaints with the process so far.

This is not true. Kia sent a memo out saying that had to cut SX production of Carnivals and a few other models due to parts shortage, but they are still building them

Agreed on still building SX’s. Just saw my VIN on Failcat today and Failcat showed several more Wolf Gray SX’s with VIN’s afterwards.
