  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all - I have been reading this board for awhile and thought it was finally time to introduce myself. I live in the Philadelphia area (where we are lucky to have many Kia dealers, although they certainly vary on their approach to Telluride sales). My wife and I have been looking to upgrade our current SUV (2011 Toyota 4Runner). We finally decided on the Telluride (after an EXHAUSTIVE search) and then focused on where to buy. After doing a lot of research and phone calls, we settled on a dealer (with positive reviews on this site). Of course, this was 5/18/2021, and we were told that they would hold our build and order a 2022 once any updates were released and confirm price changes with us. We ordered an Ebony black/black SX Nightfall (no Prestige) at MSRP. We originally wanted side step bars, but after reading the threads here, we were set on getting black side step bars and putting them on after-market. The dealer called me this morning and shared the following:

Our dealer had 22 2022 Tellurides to order, and my order was third to put in. He said that the order system was not allowing him to put in orders with side step bars (or towing packages) at this time, and said our options were (1) get the order in now without the side step bars (which we did), or (2) wait until Wednesday when the full system was up for 2022s. He then said that the builds would be pulled from their list based on the factory’s priorities (i.e. they may do all wolf greys for a week, or butterscotch interiors), but when my car got pulled, he would get a notification and let me know. A week or so after that, he would get an ETA to his dealership, which would likely be around two months from then.

I did ask about the nightfall badging, and he did not know anything specific about the nightfall other than it would be the new lettering. I am in the camp that prefers the grey/dark badge on the nightfall, and will make that change after-market if needed.

Thanks again for everyone sharing their stories and insight, it has been, and continues to be, very informative.

Welcome! And congratulations on your new Telluride. That's going to be a nice upgrade from the Toyota 4Runner. When the time comes, we have a bunch of interesting black options for emblems in the forum store. Check 'em out! You're sure to find something you like. :) I'm glad you found us!

Who's your dealer, if you don't mind me asking? Mine has not yet communicated with me at all about the order, and I'm 26th in line, even though my deposit went in on Cinco de mayo.

One of the great things about about auto forums ( this one and others) is that you can usually find the help and the answers for all things!!! Welcome! ( from central Pa.!)

I went through Sussman Kia and their GM, Chuck Matthews, who is the only person there that handles Telluride orders. Very good experience and felt like I was speaking to the right person.

They are the other option I was considering. They're quoting a little shorter wait time than what I have, but I think they're overly optimistic rather than the realistic estimate I'm getting from my dealer. Good luck!
