  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We picked up our SXP, dark moss, dune brown with tow last week. Couldn't be happier with the Telluride but lukewarm on the dealer. We placed the order back in May with some options, including interior light kit, but the dealer said the order was accepted without that option. Instead of $450 for the light kit the dealer wants $750 for the kit installed. Were we scammed or is it normal for a manufacturer to "adjust" the options on an order?

I don't think it's unheard of for the accessories to come out a little differently from the factory than ordered - depending on what they have available at the time and resources available. The dealer charges more because they have to pay for the labor. That said, $750 seems kind of atrocious. That's like three hours of labor on top of the $450 retail price which they certainly pay less than for the part. And I don't think it would take them 3 hours to install.

From the reports I've read on that interior lighting kit, it doesn't even sound worth it at $450. Only 8 colors and it's controlled by a separate switch near the cupholder, it's not integrated with the standard 64 color light system controlled within the infotainment system on the SX.

Personally I'd spend that $750 elsewhere.
