  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi there. I’ve been thinking of getting a Telluride for about a year now, ever since I saw one drive past in a parking lot. “What was that!?” I had to chase it down, to find out what kind of car it was. When I got home, I told my husband I saw a cool looking car I liked and believe it or not it’s a KIA. We’ve been driving mostly big American Trucks & SUVs for the past 20 years, so I expected him to scoff, but he was quite enthusiastic. He had read some impressive reviews about it.

I’ve been driving a 2008 Chevy Tahoe LT (2wd) for the past 12 years and it’s been a great car. I still loved my Tahoe but it felt like a lot of car to be driving around carrying just 2 people and bag of groceries. Also, it was creeping up on 100k miles. Was jealous of my husband‘s Jeep SRT’s backup camera and other cool technology. I test drove a Chevy Traverse and the new Bronco, last year. Nice but didn’t excite me enough to give up my Tahoe. I tried to test drive the Telluride, but the dealer in my area had them sold the minute they came in.

Last week, I stopped in to see if they had a Telluride in stock and finally got to drive one. I loved that it felt sturdy and substantial, but smaller and sportier than my Tahoe. It would be easier to park and get better gas mileage too. Absolutely loved the way the back seats folded down so easily & so flat. The Tahoe 3rd row had these huge heavy seats that were a workout to remove & store.

This intro is getting too long, so I’ll cut to the good part. A White SX (with close to everything I wanted) came in on the truck THAT very day and I jumped on the opportunity. It didn’t have AWD or prestige package, but it was a 2021 and had a tow package already installed. It has black leather interior which, might not have been my first choice, but is very nice. I’ve had it a week, and I absolutely LOVE it. Very fun to drive. The only thing I don’t like is the forward pitch of the headrests & the inability to adjust them. And the fact that my (displayed) average mpg is a consistent 13.5 mpg which is about what I got in my beloved Tahoe. I don’t drive much on the highway. Mostly around town. I never thought I had a lead foot, but maybe I do?

Very happy to have found this forum. I’ve already had one perplexing question answered by the community!
Lets see if I can insert a few photos!

(Edit: to add - I do plan to use the Telly for camping, possibly with a small teardrop camper in tow. Which is why the flat cargo area & tow package were important to me. Looks like the 2wd can tow 3500 lbs, whereas the AWD is rated up to 5000 lbs. is that correct?). I also meant for the photo of the Tahoe to appear last, not first :)

The max tow rating for all Tellurides is 5,000 lbs.
