  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... As you can probably guess from my name, I just took delivery of my new '21 Telluride EX in Everlasting Silver.

I absolutely love this SUV. I just came out of a '17 Sorento, which I also loved dearly.

I do have two questions for the more experienced folks out there, if you'd please...

1. Is there a hidden manual ignition lock? Just curious on how one would start the vehicle should the smart key die (this isn't really a huge issue for me, as I already have a pack of 2032's in the center box)

2. Are there any aftermarket Vent Shades/Window shades/Vent Visors available for this vehicles? The only ones I've managed to find are manufactured by Kia, and they cost almost $200 (it'll be a cold day in hell). Am I missing them, or are they just not manufactured yet? Are there alternatives that fit? Any rumors of them coming out soon?

Thank you for having me, and thank you in advance for answering my questions!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What did the Telluride replace for you? I'm glad you found us.

I don't have any answers to your questions, just want to share that I also came out of a 17 Sorento top trim (SXL, lease return), I actually like the car so much I spent almost a year thinking if I should buy out the car....once the Telluride came out I knew my answer ;)

Ditto! I always thought I'd drive my Sorento into the ground, and then I saw that first Telluride commercial and my jaw hit the floor. The "Big T" is my dream car, but I have to say... the upcoming '21 Sorento (Especially in "Aruba Green" exterior and "Rust Leather" interior) is giving the Telluride a run for it's money in the looks department.

But I'm a big dude (6' 6") and The T fits me a LOT better than the Sorento does. I finally feel like I found a vehicle built for me.

If the fob battery dies, you just push the start button with the fob itself.

The hardest part would actually be getting in the car in the first place, since you have to pop off a piece of plastic by the door button and use the physical key to unlock the door.

Ah, gotcha. Thank you!
