Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey everyone. I just sanded down this scratch with 3M stuff. it's down to the metal. What would be the best process to fix it? Paint then clear coat? Or do I need a base? Tks
I’m no expert but I’ve done this once and I sanded it down to get the surface smooth. I then hit it with automotive primer where there was bare metal. Let it dry. Did a very fine grit sanding to make sure the surface was smooth. Then I did a spray coat. Let dry. Second coat if needed. Then finish with clear coat.
