• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi my smart key isn't working and I'm stuck. Do the batteries die real fast or something? I can't figure out how to open the fob.

key fob opens and the key slides out - the door handle flips up on the right side from the bottom to insert the key - to start your car you press the start button with the top of the key fob.

Ok thanks so now I'm started. You think the key fob battery is dead? How do I change it?

Key fob is probably dead - not sure how to open it but its in your manual - usually it either slides open or cracks open with a butter knife. If you store your keys in your house close to you car outside they might be constantly communicating which can drain the battery quickly.

You should be able to open the case once you remove the key.

I was kind of scared to force it but I got it open thanks everyone

Just purchased my Telluride July 2021. It’s a 2022. I’ve never had to replace a battery in a key fob. But, one of my keys is already going. I switched to the other one so I had time. The battery is a 2032. There are videos or how tos on how to switch it out. But, really?! Not even a year out of the first battery.

It’s in the Owners Manual. This is the page from 2022 but I suspect your key will be similar.
