• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi everyone!!! Put a deposit down on a 2022 telluride s model yesterday! I’m so excited for it to get here! This will be my first new car since 2013! Everything you read online says how amazing they are! But I see also see people saying they are junk :(
I’m hoping they really are as amazing as everyone says! Input appreciated

Thanks!

Sounds like you have been talking to Honda, Toyota, and maybe a few Subaru salesman?

Just what I see online.. obviously I know you can’t trust it. I just started to get worried haha

Everything quoted.

What has been your experience with your telluride?
I actually like it very much. As far as functionality, my only complaints are the lack of storage in the first two rows and the woefully pathetic infotainment system. The EX stereo sounds fantastic but is lacking in the functionality department. I was so frustrated by the infotainment, I nearly returned it right away and replaced it with an Odyssey but the dealership group didn't have a Touring Elite in the color I wanted so I decided I didn't want to have to go through the credit process with another dealer.

Now, as much as I like it, it spends entirely way too much time in the shop. It's constantly in for repair. Kia's been ok to work with on some things and horrible on others. I've had to file three complaints with Kia corporate already and have even reported an issue with the headlights to the NHTSA as Kia is refusing to put anymore time into my issues. I see many Tellurides with the same exterior fit and finish issues that I've had repaired. Fit and finish have been about half of my issues. The QC at the factory seems poor.

It's been in for repair nearly 10 times in 28k. It's obviously always covered under warranty and always drivable but having to leave it for the day, that many times is inconvenient and not my expectation when I purchase a brand new vehicle. This is like my 5th new vehicle, never had anything require this much attention this early. I have a 7 year old Honda that has 3X the miles and has never required a repair. I just change the fluids, it's still on the original brakes. The Telluride sat outside in the cold last night, the brakes were squealing and clunking the first 5 minutes I drove it this morning. I don't have issues like that with my other two vehicles.

You'll probably love it. You could get a good one, you could get a bad one. Plenty of frustrated members on here with a number of different issues, some of which Kia has yet to resolve. So, it's not all peaches but when it's right, it's a very nice vehicle. That's why I say, yes, it's a nice car and yes, it's kinda junk too. I've had mine 16 months and I still think sometimes, "I can't believe this thing's a Kia, it's impressive." but on the other hand on that same drive, it might give me reason to think, "Ugh, well, this thing IS a Kia..."

I gotcha thank you for your response! That makes total sense and that definitely sounds frustrating!!

Coming from the opposite end of the spectrum. Car is beautiful, works flawlessly, only time I’ve brought it to the dealer are for oil changes and annual maintenance in the past two years and 11k miles.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles. I can only say we have owned our SX for 8 months and have had absolutely no issues aside from a windshield crack.

This will be my first new car since 1994 lol.

My 2020 EX FWD was great. The only time to the dealership was for required maintenance and recalls. Made my road trips FL-NJ so much easier. more than comfortable enough for us and our dogs. Plus the beauty on the outside. Always a spokesman when asked if I like it.
