• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... HI all. I placed an order on Nov 25 for an SX AWD (non P or Towing). It still hasn't been placed in KFOS and the dealer (Kia of Muncie) doesn't know when it will be. Can someone help me understand how it works or point me to the thread if it's already been explained? Thanks!

I just replied to your other post which you had posted at the bottom of the thread that explained KFOS. "Latest info on ordering through KFOS" is the thread title. I'll link to my post. Go back to beginning of that thread and read Stephen's posts.

@TMG,

Also keep in mind that you ordered on 11/25 - with an expected wait of 4-6 months - so you're cutting it close with your lease end. Muncie is an honest dealership and will keep you informed. There are others at Muncie waiting on their order to be fulfilled from 9/29... so it could be a while for yours. There are two possible best outcomes: (1) your order is somehow pulled from kdealer and factory allocated and built - but even if that happens you're likely looking at an April delivery at this point. (2) You're order is put into KFOS in mid-March because Muncie earned the allocations. In that case, it would be built sometime in late March or early April and then shipped out. If it doesn't go by mid-March then rinse and repeat scenarios above - extend by a month.

You seem a bit impatient - it's the American way after all - but many of us with orders waited anywhere from 4-6+ months.

What are your options? (1) Wait it out with Muncie - you'll get your order eventually - may have to extend lease or rent a second vehicle. (2) Use the tools on the forum (VIN lookup website and "production stats" spreadsheet) and call dealers around you to find your desired vehicle. Read the thread titled "Scored" for an example of how another forum member made this happen. Lots of work... but possible.

what does KFOS stand for?
Instead of 29 posts of basic forum questions, maybe read the thread you're replying to. There's a link that explains everything about KFOS.

Instead of responding like that with a smart ass remark, just say there is a link to read. Or not respond at all.

Agreed. Some people on here are not so kind or friendly.
