• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Greetings all,

Bought my new SX X-Pro last week, in blue, really love it :)

I'm in Florida. I have a dedicated parking space but its outside. I need to travel for long periods, weeks or even months at a time. I have someone who can start it for me occasionally.

Is starting it once a week for ten minutes enough? I suppose that sitting without moving is bad for the tires? What about just disconnecting the battery instead?

thanks all, love my Telluride :)

Eric

Is there anyway you can get an indoor parking location with power for a battery charger? I know there are many places in Florida that have indoor parking offering this since there are many people like you that travel and live there. I'm not trying to jack up your expenditure also! Usually the typical car to keep outside in the elements is something older since the Florida weather can be brutal on the cars finish, the exterior, and the tires, At a minimum, cleaning the car well and then keeping a quality cover on it would help. Either disconnecting the battery (which is a pain) or finding a solar power battery tender may work. Good luck.

Something along these lines would work although having the car covered would be an issue unless they make a cover with some type of clear opening.

Thanks! HOA rules mean no car cover, no powered outlet for a battery tender. I don't think there's any convenient indoor parking nearby.

The solar battery tender is still an option along with interior sun shades

Hoa may have something on this also. Fortunately the hoa at our place in NC isn't as restrictive.
