Hey guys. I was just trying to give someone an opportunity to get a cool Telluride at the same markup the dealers are getting and you can take delivery immediately. I only reason I did not have to pay the markup because I have purchased many cars from my dealer. The negative comments are really not necessary and I will be leaving the forum. I guess I expected a different interaction from fellow Telluride owners. God Bless!

I wouldn't be so surprised by the reaction. Someone selling their "allocation slot" for a profit is always going to be frowned upon by folks in forums like this. It just smacks of opportunism - selling plywood at 10x the normal price right before a hurricane.

And there is the issue of whether a dealer would actually be willing to transfer an allocation to someone brought in by the original purchaser, especially if the price is below the current market. If the original person who ordered the car signed a sales contract with a specific price, then that deal is null/void if they back out. If the allocation was made informally with a refundable deposit, then the original purchaser really owns nothing and the dealer will usually want to sell to others they have on their waiting list. And this sort of horse-trading of slots may be a violation of the dealer agreements which are designed to avoid this sort of speculation.

So someone should pay you 5K simply for you putting your name on a list, which cost you absolutely nothing it sounds like, and probably took 5 minutes of your time?

Yeah, you should have expected negative comments. Your fellow Telluride owners would have simply stated that they have an allocation up for grabs for FREE, and given the contact info. You’re just as bad as the dealers we complain about who have massive markups in my opinion!
