• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I noticed my front plate is a bit off center.

This is why America is going to lose.

Whatever engineering intern in Korea designed the front plate holder did a nice job. The bumper has 3 dimples marking where you drill small holes for the screws. The plate holder has a couple of posts that perfectly align it against the bumper by fitting in between two vertical parts on the grill. It couldn't be easier.

Whatever moron the dealer used for prepping new cars ignored all that. He put the holder on to the side of where it should line up, then clearly shot the screws in without predrilling. Now the holes are 5/8" to the right of where the dimples. Luckily the plate holder has enough extra coverage so I could do it properly and it covers the extra holes

This is why I just tell them don’t drill a front plate and I deal with the consequences later.

Unfortunately, the front plate is required for inspection. I should have brought my own tools and done it myself at the dealer.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. They basically use drywall screws and puncture the bumper cover. Since you are obliged to have one and yours covers the previous damage, you lucked out!

Fortunately, Arizona does not require front plates. Lucked out on that one. I even told the dealer to make notes everywhere in the file and on the car - NOT to install the front bracket. Knew that if it came with one, I would have to deal with the bracket or HOLES later. 🚫🪛🛠️

Funny but I read about a buyer on another forum that did the same and upon delivery they still mounted it unnecessarily. He was in a battle to refuse delivery of the car and have a new one delivered.

Amazing. Probably not a super big item to kill a deal - but a nuisance just the same. It's the pet peeves that somehow drive us craziest. To me, it just seemed like something that could be so easily overlooked, if not paying close attention. The salesman and I often joked about it while waiting over the months of delivery. At the final closure, he even said he remembered to have the bracket installed for me - with extra holes and large bolts. Funny how it plays out......
