• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Incoming Map Update: 16.5 Arriving October 24

I think you’re probably in the minority here. Speed and functionality are really good and outside of a uconnect system, I don’t know of others that are equal. I travel a bunch and rent all kids of cars, National executive status. If it’s as bad as you say, I’d take it to the dealer for diagnosis and possibly reinstall.

Yeah, I think it's great in general.

The one annoyance is that when I have AA (Waze) on the left 2/3 of the screen, and the Telly's Sirius XM widget on the right 1/3, there's no way to have SXM pop up first. The stock Telly nav always shows first on the right side, and I have to swipe up to get to SXM. Seriously, why can't that behavior be fixed? You should be able to turn off the stock nav completely if you want, or at least control the order that widgets are displayed. There's a way to change the order of the widgets, but it doesn't actually let you have SXM show first. That's really dumb.

Ok, thanks. I will check the steering wheel menu for those. Before your message came in I had re-downloaded the update and started it again just a min ago, thinking it needed redone. Can't hurt I guess, but will look elsewhere for those settings.

And I don't know how the system can be regarded as one of the best in the industry. Speed-wise, layout-wise, all of that, is so much better in most every rental car I get (travel for work, rent all kinds of makes/models). Getting back in the Telluride is just frustrating. Everything from going to the same home screen at startup, and NOT the screen every consumer would want (the screen that was on when you turned the car off), to the multi-second delay after button presses/taps, to the brutal layout. EVERY, and I mean EVERY other rental car (most are 2020 and newer of course) goes to the Carplay screen if you shut the car off at the Carplay screen. That or the Sirius/XM (or Radio) screen. This is so damn basic it's not funny! To have to hit the "RADIO" button each time, or tap on the screen to get to what you really want to see if just ludicrous. Guess everyone has an opinion, or maybe we just have a slow one, not sure, but I'd take a Toyota or Honda or Chevy interface any day. So much quicker and better laid out.

I set up the Star Favorite button to the Phone Projection option since it was frustrating each time coming back from the backup camera screens or jumping into the car. Makes it very easy to get back where I was screen-wise. Coming from a 2013 ford explorer with no options, it doesn't bother me that much.

You can try posting about it on the forums for the software update releases, where it might be heard by the engineers. However, if the 3-tile-screen revival request is any indication, your complaints may also land on deaf ears.

Been a while since I have posted anything. wanted to share this experience. And, I apologize if my issue has been addressed elsewhere. It might be a good idea to save your flash drive after loading an update.

My problem: the infotainment display went haywire while driving. Symptoms were a flashing map on the head unit, right screen, and, SiriusXM radio was playing and I could not get it to switch stations. To try to remedy the problem, I turned off the radio, then turned it back on. No affect. I then turned off the vehicle, let it set for a couple hours, then restarted it. And that did not work. So, I had kept the latest map update on a flash drive. I reloaded it, and everything went back to normal. No problems since. Somehow, the software got corrupted.

Thanks for that info.

Related question, is there any way to configure a 'home screen' that will come up each time I start the car, from where I left off (like every other infotainment system in the world today)? No matter what I do I have to touch the screen, or hit the star button linked to Apple Carplay. The default is this massive screen with tons of wasted space that shows some stupid map graphic faded in the background, with the radio source name and station in the lower left. Couldn't they at least make this useless home screen show the song title & artist?? Oh, it does have the clock on there too. Still cannot get over how some say this system is regarded as one of the best in the industry.

I have not really paid much attention to the startup screen. But, I have profiles set for my wife and I, depending on who is driving. For me, when running short trips, and when restarting the vehicle, the screen displays where it left off. However, if I switch profiles, and then switch back to my profile, the default startup screen displays. I don’t know if there is a time limit when the display returns to the default startup screen.

Is there a way to have only one profile? Maybe this is the key to getting the system to display the last screen that was on when you shut the vehicle off, no matter how long before it's started again?

I imagine that would be easy to do. Got to SETUP. Tap PROFILES. It should show the current profile, and give you an option to change user. Delete the other profiles.
I am not at my vehicle, but, have been in this menu screen before.
