The markup is absurd. I can purchase an audi q7, Cadi Prem Luxury or a Buick Enclave Avenir at that price. Don't even tell me that a Telly compares to those vehicles. Nice, but not paying that much..

Yes I’ve seen you mentioned this a few times before on the forum. Although you said the Cadi would be a base model. This is not for everyone and I understand that. It is inventory I have coming in and for the right area’s in the US is better pricing. All I can do is post what I have coming at price they are being sold at.

So many markups. Y’all need to push the owner. It’s been over a year. Even on the LX :/
(I know totally out of your control, still a bummer!)

Have y’all tried to do anything to pressure them to cut the markup?
He is the boss. His decision. Just posting my inventory and mainly here to help community with up to date information from Kia’s side. Some people will pass some people will put deposits to not wait. Like you said out of my control

I get it. People will pay what the market demands, but as much as I love the vehicle, I can't put it up against the luxury brand. It competes with Explorers, Highlanders, Pilots and quite frankly is a much greater value than those competitive brands. But when you start pricing it like a luxury brand, then you lose me. Besides, other authorized dealers (even on this site) are selling it for the MSRP.

I know I was one of them selling at MSRP. Just happy owner at least is not doing 5k plus like a lot of other dealers.

Stephen, normally I would shoe away any salesman who came on here pedaling markup. You however have been great to this forum. Your dealership has been at MSRP for so long that I can still respect you even with the new markup. While not a fan of the markup, I feel that you are still fighting for the customer with management. I applaud that. I guess all I am saying is carry on good sir and thanks for being here.

The SX Prestige - are those from people that cancelled orders?

As for the mark ups - yeah it sucks but what is worse is the timing. It seems like the owner probably got tired of all the orders at MSRP going out the door while other owners were making more per vehicle than him. Not @StephenCantrelle fault. But now the economy is crashing and some people may legitimately need a new car and to go for the mark up now seems ill advised. Thankfully @StephenCantrelle went to bat for the others like me that still have one on pre-order and kept us at MSRP.

I do wonder how long owners can get mark up though. While the economy is going to start re-opening - there will be long term impacts to COVID-19 that will weigh on the car business for a long time.

I agree. Every dealer has the right to make as much profit as possibly, especially considering the high demand. But when you start to get greedy, smart buyers go elsewhere. If you consider that the Telluride SX P price to dealer after Invoice and Holdback is $41,172, they make a nice profit at MSRP. To go above the MSRP is getting too greedy in my opinion. My dealer will sell the SX P for MSRP less the $1000.00 rebate. The only problem I am having is I have to wait because Kia's plant is shut down until May. But, I'd rather be patient and get what I want than to pay above MSRP. No hurry and hopefully I get the 20201. For the record, I agree it's not @StephenCantrelle fault. I am happy that he is providing members, who are waiting, an opportunity to get one now, so kudos to him.

Yes the Prestige Options are from people who backed out... All in all not bad though I think 4 out of 40ish for my store.. One person who is waiting has the exact color combo and decided to hold off till virus figures itself out.. She will be getting a 2021.. Offered to move her up at MSRP since she ordered and has been waiting.

updated list incoming dates.. Thanks to the several members here who have put deposits on the couple I have had in stock and incoming units.
I will say that with every deposit I was able to work a better price then what my owner started at for those who come across this post.

Thanks as always to the community,

Stephen

Following. I am in NM and it would be worth the one-way trip to be able to finally lock down one.

Stephen, the etas for early May, are they still holding up today even with the shutdown?

Yes I just updated them. I believe both of my early May ones are about to be put on a truck to transport here.
