• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I always fight with insurance companies to get the best deal. Nothing negative on my driving history, except broken windshield(hood logo came off).

But, just was wondering how do the insurance companies treat new car like Telluride? Do you get a better deal because it has all the safety features? I figure different states, different rules, learned that when moved to California.

Why I’m asking is because that will go into cost of owning a new car, I pay 34$ a month for bare minimum right now. Was paying ~60$ when car was under the loan(and around 100$ when I had 2 cars under loan). This is all for used. Not really familiar with new. It would suck if for example I had to pay more than 100$/month.

My rate I got quoted (State Farm)for my 40k ex model I was looking at was $53 a month for $500 deductible with good coverage. Insurance doesn’t give discounts for driver assist from what I thought I read.

Your insurance rates are based on your driving history, type of vehicle, where you live, engine horsepower, and a multitude of other factors. Impossible to say what type of rate to expect but I’d expect the same as any other v6 suv.

A huge factor is also coverage amounts. Almost a bigger deal than the car they are insuring. Unless people really pony up details on the specific coverage, its going to be very hard to compare.
