• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... As the high-pressure arm of the car wash passed over the right side of the windshield a decent stream of water came through the far-right visor connection. I took it to the dealer and showed them a video of the occurrence. The dealer said they couldn't recreate it and to bring it back if it happened again. How should I pursue this?

Water leak is one of the hardest thing to troubleshoot. Sometimes, its not in the area you think that its coming from.

That being stated...If you have video evidence, that's already proof that something is wrong.
I'd ask the service manager to document this complaint/issue and elevate it to KIA consumer affairs if you think you're not getting the help you need from the dealership.

I did take a video while it was occurring and gave it to the service guy. Thanks for your advice.

What trim do you have and when was yours produced?

have a service tech go back to the same car wash with you again?

sorry you are having water leak issues. I had to deal with water leaks as well for years with my last car. Same response from the dealership, “couldn’t reproduce the problem”. Ended up being related to the weatherproof seals and my insurance had to be involved as it was past warranty.

Thank you for relaying your experience. I appreciate the advice!

This seems to be a quality control failure for Kia plant inspection on the VIN. On videos posted on this forum and YouTube Kia plant management proudly points to Every car going through multipoint inspection. Full road test and high pressure water soak. Every vehicle. Unlike competition that does a percentage of finished builds. Hopefully they are not cutting corners or changing quality standards to get cars out door faster.

There are “drain tubes” for the sunroof - could be that is not functioning properly. I believe e I saw someone else here (or on YouTube) who pulled his headliner to fix this. If I find the video I will edit this post and add link.

Edit:

I just had my windshield replaced due to a leak in the drivers side top corner. It took me a while for the dealership to recreate it but they replaced the windshield and found that the robot that puts the caulking around the windshield at the factory was not going all the way around it. I have no leaks now when it rains or when i wash my car good luck

This is an issue when windshields are replaced by captive installation entities that agree to lower compensation in return for referral business. I’ve been involved in litigation on the issue where in just one state the insurance company saved $10M per year in just one state. That increased the value of the company by $150M using standard business valuation methods.

I took some pics and took them to the dealership and they replaced my windshield

Was wondering if the OP ever got a resolution since I am having the exact same issue. Water is coming into my cabin from the passenger side sun visor at the connecting/pivot arm. But I think the issue in my case is more related to water intrusion on the roof somewhere, likely at one of the sunroofs.

I have seen other reports from Telluride owners which did give higher confidence to poor weather sealing of the windshield. However, tpolito64 and others have seen water lower down on the dash, not in the sun visor area.

I did not have water leaks from my wind shield but noticed the window post left and right were completely melted an worn away. It went out of warranty last month. replacing the post trim would have been over $500 dollars . Dealer said warranty period was to 60,000 miles or four years . get them done if you still have time for free. I thought it was ridiculous to pay that much so i just replaced the seals . got a roll to do both sides took me 1 and a half hour to replace it . yakefly z-shape automotive weather seal 13 feet self adhesive $8.99 on amazon next day delivery. lets see how long it lasts.
