Interior door handles

This one thing that I find to be very poor design - the handles to open the doors seem to be missing the bottom part where when you pull the handles to open, your hand falls off the the handle! It's a 2 finger pull and extremely uncomfortable?
Any opinions cause there are certainly no options!

Put some rubber tape behind the handle so your finger does not slip off.

Tie a lanyard to the handle and pull on that instead?

Roll down the window and pull on the exterior handle?

I don't think I've seen fully enclosed handles with a bottom portion since those plastic (maybe metal?) ones on a 1985 Honda. This is a funny complaint.

They should have left the top part of the handle open instead of the bottom, then one would have more to hold onto when pulling the latch!
