Interior light upgrade unavailable - is this normal?

Today my dealer called to give my eta and I was informed that the interior light upgrade was unavailable until next year.

I told the sales manager that was fine since it's really not all that important to me.

Is this normal for the vehicle to get to a point where it has an ETA and then the buyer is informed that something they requested is unavailable?

Now I'm concerned that other options might get removed from the vehicle...is that a possibility?

I got the same in columbia for my order but it was also the door sill lights and side steps that they said kia removed from my order. Odd but glad to hear its mkre people. I was suspecting they just forgot to input my options

There are global supply chain issues. Probably cannot get the needed parts - I doubt this is an issue with order input and is legitimately a situation where needed components aren’t available.
Be glad they aren’t having bigger issues and the plant shutdown.

It was explained to me at the time of me ordering that some things may not be available when its time to confirm from factory. When it was confirmed he told me everything would be available but at least i was informed that something could be missing

That’s a bummer! I guess I’d rather have unavailable options rather than options added that I did not request.
