In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Is 7-9 months a realistic wait time?

Put in an order about a month ago (Lev Kia in Framingham, MA) for an AWD S. He warned that they were estimating 7-9 months... is that realistic? I've seen people post on here that seem to have a turnaround time of a month or two. Asking because I might need the car sooner than later, and am considering switching to Palisade or Ascent.

It is long, maybe not for a low volume dealer. I see most people wait 2-5 months. Depends on volume for dealer and how many in front of you for particular trim and options.

Sounds realistic. I was quoted 6-8 months at a high volume dealer. Should come in at around 4-5 with luck, but there are no guarantees. Some folks around here have definitely waited 7-9 months or longer.

I ordered my SX in March from Kia in Burlington MA I am hoping for August delivery but they cant give me any update. I would think the dealers would have a build date but they claim they are in the dark.

I'm considering putting in an order at Lev Kia in Framingham this week. They quoted me 10 months, but maybe a year. They claim that they will definitely only charge me MSRP (Im always skeptical of dealer promises and fear they may tack on fees once the car gets here).
But I did talk to several other nearby dealerships who said anything from 3 weeks to 6 months. They all had 5-10K markups though. Hard to say if they really would get it any sooner. Shrewsbury said they have new ones ready to sell that come in on the truck every week.

I went through the same issue; Dan O’Brien and a few other places had crazy high markups. People on this site have said Lev was reliable, though I’m not sure I can wait that long for a second car when there are others available so much sooner.

Wow, seems long. I placed my order with dealership 4/1/21, they told me probably 2-4 months. In May got an ETA from our salesperson 6/18/21.
They called me on 5/29/21, it arrived early.
Paid MSRP.
Dealership is Smart Kia, Davenport, Iowa.

This is really not typical for almost anyone else on this forum (maybe one other person got their car in less than 3 months). Very happy it worked out for you, but 7-9 months is about what it's running now, unless you can get an unsold allocation at MSRP (good luck on that) or a customer who backed out. I wouldn't give @ChillMickelson false hope.

Of course, based on dealer volume these things are very variable, but if the dealer is quoting 7-9 months, I'd be prepared to wait that long. Hopefully they beat it.
