• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is Kia done producing 2020 tellurides?

Yes, that could be proper protocol. I wasn't given a VIN when told it was on the way and given a delivery date - but I eventually saw it pop up on the cars.com website with my exact MSRP and options - and guessed the VIN. I did that in the morning (or the day before), and soon thereafter the salesperson told me the car was at the dealership.

First, ask for a delivery date... it's probably just waiting to be transported.

Thanks for the info.

We were told 6-8 weeks and Monday was 6 weeks so we are technically still on schedule. Lol

Did you truly order the vehicle with the accessories/options you wanted? Some dealers are not ordering at all but rather matching inbound trucks to wait lists. The dealer would have gotten a "filled order" from KIA with your name attached to the order. An internal number is assigned for some time before a Vin is attached to the vehicle. Not saying this didn't happen but lot of moving parts and wait times. Size of the store only matters if they have allocated inbound vehicles coming in with no assigned homes to begin with. Dealers do not get special treatment if they are bigger.
I have a dealer internal number (10 digits). ETA on vehicle is scheduled for 10/31/19. Is there anywhere I can track this internal #?

No. No way to track. Only KIA God's have that info

Got my EX last Thurs. Number 43750.

This is what I was thinking. I think they debuted the 2020 Telluride in Feb-Mar 2019 in “limited production” because it was a new model—and they knew there would be some unforeseeable problems which they would need time to work out. And sure enough, some of the early adopters got screwed with spontaneously breaking windshields for which replacements aren’t available, vibrating AWD powertrains, and leaky rear window wash nozzles.
But if you have the patience to wait for when production finally ramps up, Kia is probably saying “All Clear”, and you will get a better deal on the vehicle, and most of these problems will have hopefully been solved.

H/K/G and most other automakers when launching a new (or F/L) model early in the year will just designate it as the next year MY (so, if an early 2019 launch, will be a 2020MY) - either doing a short/truncated run of the previous MY or in rare cases, even skipping a whole MY.

Then they'll continue that MY til the usual time for a change-over (leading to a longer than usual MY run).

Think the 40k production initially quoted is what Kia had planned to produce of the 2020MY this year (the Telluride hit the lots at end of Feb., so March was the first real month of sale, and an actual full year of production at that planned rate of production would be 48k).

Yes we did SWP/SXP/Gray Nappa. With trade in appraised, 500 deposit and with loan and paperwork done. All we have to do is bring in the trade/title and sign papers and we out the door.
Exactly the same for me here in Canada but for some reason i needed to select two color choices. I ordered back in June and thought why do i need two color choices if they afte ordering one specifically for me. Anyway, my second colour choice arrived last week, two exact same models did actually. I went down and had a look. I decided to keep it. If i didn't, they would have to return it and were not allowed to sell it to someone else. The second vehicle that came in with mine, they did actually return to the factory. So i found out that the factory will send vehicles on a truck to them to fulfill orders and if the customer on the paperwork no longer accepts it, it is returned. This eliminates fake orders just to have stock as the factory is so behind they are only fulfilling real orders for real customers. I pick mine up today :) SXL (Canadian Prestige) in everlasting grey with black wheels added, since we cant get them here in Canada.

Oh and my number is 38713 so it must have sat at the factory for a bit. The other one that came in with it was 38360
