Is Prestige Package Worth It?

I'm seeing a lot of people here who got the SX with Prestige Package. Seems like there are almost no one who got the regular SX.

Curious to see what made the PP upgrade worth it to you as I won't even be able to see the different models in a show room.

Was it mainly aesthetic with the napa leather?

Or was it the extra features like the HUD?

What did you like the most about the PP package?

I have "just" the SX but not missing anything in my opinion, but then again I don't care about HUD or rain sensing wipers or even rear heated/cooled seats. That said if my only choice was SX Prestige or wait for months for a T'ride I would have taken the SXP in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I agree with the Husk Soozer, just the cool and heated 2nd row seats alone would be worth it.

I’m certainly glad I bought the SXP. I love the HUD especially while using the navigation system. I really like the premium headliner. The automatic rain sensors work wonderfully. There are times I need the 110v power to charge my laptop (sometimes my car is my office - wish we had WiFi option) so that’s nice to have. Today I am traveling with my family for three hours to Dallas so it makes me feel good that my daughters will have the luxury of heated or cooled seats in the back during the ride. Lastly, we may have some inclement weather during the trip home so knowing I have AWD gives me the peace of mind that I have all the safety features available to keep my family safe on the road (Recall, you can’t upgrade to Prestidge without opting for AWD so for me it was a $4k upgrade). Ultimately I’m grateful that I’m in a position in life to be able to afford these features.

Went with SXP because we wanted AWD and the heated/cooled 2nd row and after having the HUD on the Stinger, I would have really missed that..it's a game changer IMO.

It was not a deal breaker for us. We were just looking for the right exterior/interior color and it happened to be the Prestige package. I do like the heads up display and I am sure I will use the outlet. The SX would have been good enough for us.

We have the "just SX" also and love it. We had the choice to pick either trims when we ordered and we chose the SX over the PP. I didn't love the HUD and the other features we felt we go under utilized for the price. In fact, I often feel that way about our SX too because we just put a lot of miles on our cars. We've had our SX for 3 months and only have 5100 miles on it. With all of that said though I love our "just SX" trim and we feel that the vehicle is such a bargain with all of its features. A friend of mine road in our Telluride who has a Ram 2500 Laramie Edition and we were comparing tech in each vehicle. The Telluride blew his truck out of the water in tech comparison and his truck was a bit more expensive.

Roughly a 5% price increase to take the vehicle to the next level in features, luxury and convenience. No brainer to me to go SXP.

I live in MN, so not a factor for me. AWD is mandatory.

but very good point for the non-AWD crowd. I would think a lot harder in that scenario as well.

SX with PP will be harder to source. Watch the dealer threads here - Steven Cantrelle, M Weiland, and some other dealers will post what they have incoming and not sold. We've seen quite a few SX models pop up.

If you don't need AWD and a HUD and the other features, you will be very happy with SX. I have seen them all and own an SX with prestige. Want a second one, but certainly won't get Prestige on second one as FWD will be just fine.

I ended up with the p-pkg mainly for the seats. I loved their design from the first time I saw them. The other things aren't a big deal for me, including the HUD and headliner, so really, it's all very personal and what you like, need and want.

Do you think they will eliminate the need for the 2K AWD in order to get the 2K prestige package at some point? Seems silly for those that have no use for AWD to be forced into it to get better interior materials. They added a prestige package (captains chairs and 20” rims) to the EX in response to customer demands, so...

I will get the P mainly for leather and suede-like headliner. My Genesis has heated rear seats that never get used.
I have never needed a 110 outlet in a car and have no intention of using this one.
I wish they had an option for a single moon roof on the SX. I don't need all the glass overhead either.


I love Hyundai rain sense. My X5, albeit a 2013, requires you to push a button to activate the wipers and then it will sense the rain. Genesis is always sensing for rain with no action required by me.

I like HUD which was invented by GM and first appeared in the 1988 Olds and Pontiacs and I believe produced by Raytheon (inventor o the microwave oven).

Someone please tell me the KT gets capless fuel filling.

When Ford introduced capless several years ago, I remember thinking "what an silly idea".

Now that I have in on my 2017 Pacifica, I LOVE it.

Once you go capless, you don't go back.

They solved a problem I never knew I had.

Filling up is delightful in the Pacifica.
