• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Since the LX doesn’t come with factory installed roof rails, there is no reason there would need to be any bolt holes in the roof.
I just want to confirm with someone that there are no holes under the decorative trim piece that could potentially leak years down the road on LX models. I suppose it’s possible that they have the same roof holes and they just didn’t install the rails on the LX.

Some SUVs with roof rails eventually develop water leaks when the washer seals deteriorate when the vehicle is older. The RAV4 actually had a defect where relatively new trucks were leaking through the roof rails and were repaired under warranty. It was quite unusual for them to leak while still so new, but it it would be less shocking to leak when they get much older and are many years out of warranty.
So, if you have no plans to actually make use of roof rails, having a fully sealed roof seems like a good idea.
