• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just got a copy of my VIN and Window Sticker and it has options I didn't order?

Delivery is scheduled for 1/15, so my window sticker shows the Rear Seat Entertainment and Carpeted Floor Mats listed as options included, both of which I absolutely didn't order. Is it common for options to get accidentally added to ordered vehicles? The mats aren't an issue as the dealer can just keep them, but don't the Rear Entertainment screens use mounting brackets installed into the back of the front seats and therefor can't be uninstalled?

Curious if others had issues like this on their order and what options are available?

There have been times where the factory has added small accessories but I haven't heard of the entertainment system being one of them. I would call the dealer and say WTF?

Lucky you. The carpet mats are minimal, I wouldn't worry about those. But the RES isn't very good in its execution and completely unnecessary if you don't have small children. And yes, this is happening more than you would think. Your options are to deny the car and take your turn in line. They will surely be able to sell that car immediately. Or take it and figure out if you can live with it. I'm not sure if it can be removed entirely from your car. I would tell them you want the car that was ordered and the RES removed if possible. At the very least not charged for it.

It's happened before with accessories yea. Call the dealer see if they can confirm if it's your vehicle or not. If it is see if they'll call the factory to not have that RES installed. Iirc someone on here did that and was successful. GL

Dealer told me they are looking into it with Kia and will get back to me, So I assume they are confirming everything they need to (My ordered config vs allocation)

I was told to order one or two accessories because Kia is known to tack additional things on to the order if there aren't any. So I ordered pointless wheel locks per dealer's recommendation (the cheapest accessory) and crossed my fringers that was enough. Thankfully it was.

Rear entertainment is a bummer and has been obsolete for many years, buying multiple tablets is cheaper and better quality, hope you can get a discount, perhaps?

That's a real $hitty way of doing business, the whole point of placing a custom order is to get the EXACT vehicle you wanted but you're forced to wait a long time as the company builds other configurations for dealers to sell...

Don't worry there's more to come! In the next couple of weeks you'll start to see posts and threads around here about the price increases on customer orders. Happens every year about this time. Pretty crappy if you've been forced to wait a year or more for your order only to see one or possibly two price increases on your vehicle when KIA applies their yearly price hikes. Sucks but it's "business". 🙄

It's shady for sure.

"People are climbing over each other to buy these cars and how can we make more money without raising MSRP? Give them accessories they didn't ask for! Pure profit anyway! And with the huge queues they'll just have to accept them."

Are mid-year price increases a thing? I guess I assumed that only happened on new model years.

If it wasn't ordered and you have proof on your order then I would tell them to deduct it from the total. I'm pretty sure it can't be taken off the vehicle physically once installed.

Read the contract, it usually states they can change the price of the car on delivery for various reasons.

The dealer has to pay for the options from the factory, I don't believe they will give it away for free.

Your choice will probably be take it or not and if not reorder. Maybe you can ask them to put at the front of the line for a new order.

It seems like the dealers get allocated cars that come close to yours and tell you hey, Kia added more options to your order.

If anything I would expect Kia to delete things due to shortages.

I just picked up my SX 2023 and realized the rear view mirror was the wrong one. Im supposed to have homelink and compass, but all it was was the dimming mirror on the lower trims. No one could explain how it happened. They swapped it for the correct part. I was thinking maybe shortage but this mirror has been in the kia line for ages. Same one as my 2018 stinger

The dimming is manual right? That’s one feature I didn’t want to pay for but I didn’t even know they still sold cars with manual trimming mirrors. Considering swapping it out myself if it is indeed possible.
