I noticed a lot of folks do not want to pay above MSRP - like myself! That's a good thing! I live in Central Florida - and I literally checked dealer inventory of every dealer in the state for what I was looking for. Only a few dealers in the state had an SXP in green moss, with gray interior with the nightfall package. My second choice was the same in gravity gray. None of the few dealers in the state would take MSRP, or the few that would wanted to add on thousands in "required" add-ons, but we know better - these are just dealer added fees and padding (Friendly Kia comes to mind - not so Friendly at the end of the day). Miami Lakes (aka Nowcar.com) would have been where we would have purchased in the state - but they didn't have what we wanted, but had the best prices. Also checked out Werner Kia in north FL, but they just turned out to be another scam dealer - posting one price on their web site that didn't include their stupid "market adjustment." Greenway did the exact same thing. Never will I ever buy a car from a dealer that plays these stupid games.
So - I took to the tellystats web site and started searching EVERY new VIN that popped up, to see where I would need to purchase our car from - I literally searched the entire central and east coast listings for the features I wanted, and called about 5 dealerships that were showing to have something either in stock or arriving. As I stated in my other post - a day late and a dollar short, I missed out on 2 or 3 by about 1 day, according to the dealers. Sadly a few dealers didn't seem to even know what stock existed, or really anything about the vehicles they had posted on their web site.
Finally - found one that is supposed to be arriving in late January from Quirk Kia in NH. It has everything we wanted in the car, at MSRP. Another member here posted that he purchased from Quirk and fees did not seem excessive, so we'll see how that goes. I have to arrange transportation myself though - they won't handle that. And I will need to pay cash because they won't finance out of state. I am lucky to have folks help me internally with financing, and I received a fair quote from Amerifreight - $750 to ship from NH to FL!! They were the cheapest by far, and from what I've read so far have a fairly good reputation.
So here I am - down payment has been made, dealer has assured me that the vehicle has been allocated to me so no one else can buy it, and now I wait. I'll update everyone once things get closer - and let you know how things end up. All I can say is for those that are not wanting to wait 6 months for a car, and can't find anything locally - definitely use the tellystats site - it was a tremendous help locating what we wanted! The only thing to be aware of that I found is that the options filter is not correct. I found a lot of VIN's that showed they had the premium or towing package installed but it wasn't listed - meaning I had to open each and every VIN to validate what was actually listed on the window sticker.
