• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey all! So I've been happily remote starting my Telly in the mornings before work here in the Northeast - checking the sliders for defrost, heated wheel, cabin temp, and heated seats. Works like a dream. Now today the KAA updated via Android and my only options are now cabin temp and front/rear defrost. I want my other options back! Anyone found a way around this?

It's still there (sort of), but it's hidden within the dashboard category. When you hit the remote start button, defrost and heated accessories switches will show up. There are now, however, no separate swicthes for front/rear defrost, or specific choices for the heated accessories.

The app doesn't appear to perform any different for me, so I'm unsure why they did any of this, as it doesn't really seem to be any sort of improvement.

I pick my car up tomorrow and downloaded the app last night. Reading through the reviews on the Play Store everything about the app appears to be more or less broke, lol. Everyone noting the app loads for excessive amounts of time, won't load at all, can't log in, won't actually complete the command given, and the list goes on.

Hopefully it's not as bad as others have stated and hoping it gets better.

I'm banking on the integration with Google Assistant and hoping that will be a better experience to just simply "Hey Google, start my car"
Has anyone linked their account with Google Assistant/Home yet?

Personally, I find that the app fuctions all work for me, but are horribly slow. The process of simply starting the car is way slower than it should be. My girlfriend has a Hyundai, and her Bluelink is much more reactive than UVO.

I use Alexa on occasion for starting, and find that it's hit or miss. Much improvement is needed on the whole app experience.

That said, I love the car, so this is just an annoyance that is easier to handle because of that.

Good luck with your new ride. You'll never look back.

I agree, app works but very slow. And figured out that you need to lock the car before the remote start feature will even work. You'd think they'd have just built that into the remote start process...

Alexa seems easier to use BUT when I use it the climate is always set to low. Any suggestions?

Try using the Alexa command that is outlined in the UVO Alexa skill description:

"Alexa, tell UVO to start my car and set climate control to eighty degrees"

I find that it actually works...sometimes.

Ok. I tried that as separate commands but it wouldn’t work because even 5 minutes later is thought the start command was in progress.

Regardless it should default to the last setting for climate if you don’t specify. Not LOW. How do we submit feedback?

You can leave feedback from within the actual Alexa UVO skill.

How do you use it with Alexa?

Install the UVO skill within your Alexa app. Available commands are listed on the skill page. When it works properly, it's great.

I can’t get my UVO app linked to Alexa skills. Says my password is wrong. I have reset the password so I know that isn’t the issue. Any else having the same problem?

Worked like it was suppose to when I set mine up.

I use the same credentials on my Kia Access app (iOS). Plus I had to set an additional 4 digit PIN to use on the Alexa Skill

Thanks. I am getting the same request for the data, just not taking my PW. I’ll try again later.

Did the update despite the bad reviews. Things I wanted (my version was from 6/19 so almost a year and half old): updated maps, automatic offline search if you don't have UVO (although still takes several minutes), Carplay split screen.

But find the home screen useless. Now I just go to split radio or maps or carplay depending on what I am using. I find the map on the homescreen useless - it does not have any features, street names etc. so is more like a vector diagram than a map. Any way to get useful information on the map? We still have everything with the map widget which is much more useful.

I'm pretty sure you're on the wrong thread...try this one instead
