• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... A blank instrument cluster display has prompted South Korean automaker Kia to recall nearly 109,000 vehicles.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2023 Niro, Niro PHEV, Soul, Sportage, Sportage Hybrid, Sportage PHEV and Telluride SUVs equipped with a digital instrument cluster containing a 4.2-inch screen. The issue involves the instrument cluster software along with voltage instability upon starting the vehicle, which can result in booting errors. The errors may cause the instrument cluster screen to be blank, preventing the driver from viewing important information (such as tire pressure and warning messages and lights); this can increase the risk of a crash.

As a fix, dealers will update the instrument cluster software for free. Owner notification letters will be sent May 26, but those with further questions can contact Kia at 800-333-4542 (Kia’s number for this recall is SC270), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
