• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... KIA Telluride Owner Roll Call!

I did not. I found fort collins kia in CO that would order one at MSRP but the wait time was 4 months.

I see in your sig that you got yours in about 5 weeks. That is impressive. I would of waited 5 weeks to get one at MSRP.

I had to fly in and drive it back. Put a little over 1,000 miles on it.

Welcome to the group! Enjoy it! That's all that matters!

Congrats, she’s a beauty! Looks like you loaded up on extras, as well.

Are the side steps functional or mostly for looks? What are your initial thoughts on the mud guards, rear bumper protector, and door pocket paint protectors?

Good morning. Thank you, I loaded her up. The interior lighting kit was a fairly useless splurge, but in the end, kinda fun.

The side steps are great! They are very useful and my kids love them to hop in or out. As the driver (or L side passenger) if you put your L foot on them you can step in with your R you can easily slide in (provided you use the grab bars). Converse for R side, but seems awkward for right-handed persons to go in left-wise putting your R foot down first. Just takes some getting used to. But, they do stick out a bit from the side of the car, and it is a slight bit of a stretch to step over them to get out without stepping upon them. In the end, they are more useful than not.

The mud guards are small, so the actual effectiveness of the guard itself might be minimal, but to me they finish the look--it's all in the details.

The rear bumper protector is just a stick-on, hard plastic edging on the top outer lip of the black plastic bumper. It looks fine and doesn't seem out of place. The dealer didn't press mine fully down, so I did, and I hope it stays. Otherwise, some automotive double-stick tape will do the job. I actually like it. My other cars had deep scratch marks from when items (like camping gear) was pulled straight out of the back (instead of lifting up and out), so I think for $100 or so, this will be very helpful.

Likewise, the door pocket protectors are simply thick paint protection film squares that protect from nails and the like when opening the doors. I have this on another car, and it really helps. A prior car of mine did show considerable scuffs in this area. With darker cars, you can more easily see the edge outlines.

Hope this helps...

Well, I’m currently awaiting an end of month delivery on my ‘similar to yours’ build: GWP, NFE, AWD, Presitge, and Tow. Looking forward to adding some extras like all-season mats, badge updates, mud guards, and a few protective items. Best wishes!

Well I'm a new LX owner today.
It went pretty good. The only "hickup" was the car had 50 miles on the odom. He told me it would have less than 12. He said the techs were testing it.

I finally get to post here! Picked up my SXP in Wolf Gray for MSRP. Dealer experience was awesome (will post in good dealer thread). Dropping off my '07 Toyota Sienna at Carmax tomorrow. I can't wait to actually spend time driving it.

I've had my SXP in GWP for 2 weeks now and can't find a single thing that I don't love, it's such a nice car!! Gave my dad my 2006 chevy trailblazer and he's pretty happy, it was a step up for both of us.

After a week with our Telluride, the only things I don't like involve the keys and driver profiles. The fact that I have to press the button on the door handle to unlock the car (instead of just sticking my hand in the door handle, like on every other car with keyless access that I've ever owned) is mildly annoying, but what's really annoying is the fact that it doesn't auto-detect the driver based on the key. I have to press the seat preset, AND select the driver profile in the infotainment screen. This car has auto everything -- auto wipers, auto headlights, auto three zone climate, auto cruise, auto steering...why can't it detect the driver based on the key? Failing that, couldn't they at least tie the seat memory in with the driver profile so you only have to press one thing when you get in?

Other than that we love pretty much everything.

Picked up our Telluride Saturday. If you're in the Chicagoland area (or even if you're not), I highly recommend John Plewka at Classic Kia, Waukegan.
