• THIS SECTION IS ONLY FOR DISCUSSIONS RELATING TO BUYING A TELLURIDE. PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT SECTION FOR POSTING MESSAGES ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN BUYING A TELLURIDE. THANK YOU!

  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... In most circumstances, the general advice is to just walk away as soon as you catch wind of sketchy information given by a dealer, but when shopping for a Telluride that means hunting down the trim and color combo you want yet again, hoping it hasn't been sold by the time you get to the lot and then hoping that you don't deal with the same sketchy sales tactics when you get to the next dealership. It's not like buying a Camry where you can find a million vehicles with the exact specs you want. So, if you decide you are prepared to deal with the hassle, walk into the dealership prepared and INFORMED. There are good and bad dealers everywhere but the common experience amongst a lot of us on this forum is that Kia seems to have an abundance of dealers willing to engage in ethically questionable if not just flat out illegal business practices. Any dealer who does this hopes that you just give in and pay the extra money or walk away and haggle somewhere else. That is their right as long as what they are insisting upon is actually legal. You don't have to pay what they are asking, but they do have to have some level of transparency in the pricing disclosures and advertisements. Here's the point where you make a decision...do I tell them they are caught and insist on them honoring what they are legally now bound to? (keep in mind it's not immediately enforceable if they don't budge, you will basically have to make phone calls and file complaints) Or do you walk away? Either way, the more you know........Here is a pdf of the GA AutoInformer document. Each state is different and hopefully no-one has to use anything like this, but if you do, and you let them know that you KNOW it's illegal, you may just get the deal you thought you were going to get in the first place. Happy Shopping!
