• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I recently heard someone in my neighbourhood was pulled over by the police and fined for having a clear license plate cover. I have the SX Nightfall edition with a slightly darker license plate cover but, the plate is clearly visible. That being said, I don't want to risk a $300 ticket for using it. It seems very much up to each individual officer's discretion whether you get pulled over, warned or fined. I've had many PDs and RCMP vehicles behind me without any reaction, so far.

What the consensus out there?

Thanks,
-H

License lates covers interrupt radar and laser so law enforcement can accurately track your speed. They typically aim at your plates so the signal has a good return back to their device. If they aren’t conducting speed checks then they really don’t care if you have a cover over your plate.

I have a clear cover over my veteran's plate, but it doesn't obstruct the visibility at all. Can see it in attached photo. I see them all over the place here so I doubt they are a problem here.
