• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So I've had my Telluride for 2 years and just today I found out that I can be locked out of it with my purse, my phone, my key fob/keys, and my dog in the car. Thankful that it was not 100 degrees outside! My first call to UVO to get my car unlocked. I don't know why but I thought that if I gave them enough information they would be able to unlock remotely. Learned that is not the case. They have to send someone and how long that was going to take in my small town is any one's guess.

First, let me tell you how I locked myself out. I came out to my locked car with my dog to put her in the back where her dog carry is. Because I had my purse on my shoulder with the key fob in it the back hatch opened. I put my purse (with all my stuff in it) in the back area while I got my dog in my car. I closed the hatch and left my purse where it was in the back hatch area. Then I went to get in the driver door and it would not open. I went back to the hatch area and it was now locked. Though I have KIA access on my phone, my phone was in the locked car.
That is when I called UVO for a car unlock and getting access to someone on the phone was relatively slow. Learning that they would have to send a service person was surprising.

Thankfully my daughter was with me and I had use of her phone. We downloaded the KIA access app on to her phone. I did not know my password but thankful that my APPLE devices share passwords across devices and my Mac computer had that password stored. So ultimately, KIA access using my daughters phone did the trick but it did take a bit for it to acknowledge the unlock from her phone. Im not sure why that it but I had to press the unlock on her phone several times for it to work.

I am grateful that I was not alone in a remote location with my dog locked in the car. I had no idea that it was even possible to lock myself out that way.

That's wild. Maybe it was the range the key was away from the front doors to use the sensor to let you unlock. At least you were able to solve the issue with the app and get it unlocked. I feel a few years ago, someone else did a similar thing with their Telluride as well.
