  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Good morning,

Currently I am a 4Runner owner looking at getting a Telluride. I am a family of 5. 2 adults, and 3 kids. So the Telluride would be roomy. Looking to get racks for the skis and a hitch for the bike rack. Very active family here. The one question I have is, how are the Telluride's in the snow? We like to ski and go during winter storms. The 4Runner is awesome for this, but also tight for a family of 5.

I look forward hearing back from everyone!

Thank you,

Nic

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! Have you test driven the Telluride yet? The 4Runner is a great vehicle, but I have a strong suspicion you will like the Telluride much better. I will let others chime-in in regards to how it handles in the snow...

The telluride is fine in the snow but it’s no 4Runner! Hard to compare a BOF 4WD SUV with a unibody SUV with AWD. The Telluride is probably 7/10ths as capable as the 4Runner in stock form. That being said I’ve never had any real issues with any vehicle on the road in the snow regardless of the drivetrain set up. As long as you have the appropriate tires and you take it easy you should be fine. As far as everything else: interior space, interior quality, comfort, ride quality, gas milage, tech, features, etc. the Telluride is hands down the better family vehicle.
