• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Map Update v16.0 Arriving May 5th

This was a nice update. But how can they still leave the "track up / track down" button on the steering wheel INVERTED on Android Auto!? For those who may not know, you hit the button DOWN to skip ahead a track / fast forward. UP to go back / rewind. Its not a huge deal but also drives me batty!

Come on! That has to be an easy fix!

I agree with those that say the update is a royal pain. I have a '21 SXP that has the original software from October of '20. No option to update while the car is turned off. I tried doing it in Accessories mode, but the car automatically shut off somewhere between 40-60 minutes in. I turned the car back on to Accessories mode but then when I tapped "Update" it would only show the message "Update in progress. After a bit it flashed the battery drain warning. After starting the car the update started over from scratch. Since I have other things to do in the mean time, I'll have to try again later. It sucks I have to waste gas to make the update work and we'll see if the car automatically shuts itself off before the update is finished.

I also read somewhere in the thread that if you have older software you may have to run it twice? Isn't that special #sarcasm.

The latest instructions are decent to walk anyone through the download of the updater, and then setting up the USB (64GB) for the update. Downloading the files is excrutiatingly slow, even with USB 3.0 and the correct flash drive. The instructions are only OK until you get to the actual update. No description of the screens or what progress should look like or what to do when it completes. Or what to do should you encounter a problem.

I had the original software version that came in our 2020 Telluride EX. When I ran the update the first time, I was unpleasantly disappointed to see the GUI with the "tubes" for radio stations. and much functionality didn't work right like the map and navigation. but when i put the flash drive back in....it instructed automatically that an update was available. after running the 2nd update I was finally rewarded with the fully working newest version of the software.

This isn’t just for android auto, it works this way for all presets and usb music navigation as well…Really stupid if you ask me.

I don't think there's anything to fix.

The steering wheel controls are NOT like this...👇

This makes more sense (at least logically to me), because I think of it like this...👇

While that does make sense, the fact is it is the opposite of every system I’ve ever used…up is next, down is previous. Since it is ubiquitous, Kia should do it the same to avoid confusion.

Updated successfully. Had to buy a 64gb USB, nothing I had would fit it. I LOVE the update to Android Auto. Tip: Fullscreen on AA is automatic now by default. I don't recommend enabling "widescreen" in the settings under Settings>connections?>Android Auto. It puts the default nav/map/radio with your Android auto.

Silly question here… My laptops don’t have sufficient space to download to the hard drive. It won’t allow me to download to my airport time capsule or one drive, and of course prohibits downloading directly to the USB. Any suggestions?

For some reason, the latest update fails to install on my 2022 SX Prestige. I have the Nov 2021 SW currently installed. Get an error "The vehicle system update unsuccessful". Anybody else seen this before.

Fixed it, was able to download to airport and then to the usb.

After trying to download the latest update, I gave up and ordered the USB (I am not computer savvy and didn't have enough room on my laptop).
USB arrived the morning and I installed it in about 1 hr. 15 minutes.
Everything went well and yes I did run my car the whole time.
So far so good - Knock-on-Wood!

Update was smooth, but the weather widget on the right hand side of the screen is now a forecast rather than the original widget that showed the present day temp and weather. Anyone else experience this?

Are you talking about the 1/3 of the screen? If so, try swiping/selecting left/right to view more options. Swiping up/down gives you Widget options depending on what you’ve selected on the settings.

That is how it has been since the November 2021 update. It will now just show you the forecast, three days at a time, over two screens. If you begin navigating somewhere, it’ll show you the current weather at both your current location and the destination.

If you do go into the weather app on the main part of the screen (not the right 1/3 widget), it’ll show you both current weather and the forecast.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

Do you really have to be on park with the motor running at idle to do updates ?

P.S. I dont have a battery charger to plug it so the battery doesnt empty itself.

The update became available for my region this morning. It took less than half an hour to update. It's nice to have Android Auto on full screen.
The other change is the filtration of POI's. I haven't noticed any other change, maybe I need to play around.
The radio interface is still the same, the nixie tubes :(

Installed update using SD card in a USB multi adapter. Took about 35mins for Telly to process in car. Nice radio station customization option.
