• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Map Update v16.0 Arriving May 5th

Mark your calendars: Hyundai Mapcare | FAQs / Contact Us

No changelog as of yet, but the version number jump hopefully indicates that it's a sizeable update. I'll post the changelog once it surfaces; in the past it has typically been in advance of the update becoming available.
Thank you @BrendonSF, I'll wait for the changelog to decide on the upgrade. I probably will, as long as they don't go back to the nixie tube display for the radio.

Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray. Thank you for the updated info. Always look forward to the update and new features. The Nav is ok however the Voice recognition for the Nav is the absolute worse I have ever experienced. I bought my first Telluride in early 2020 and it worked great until the first UVO update and all of a sudden it couldn't understand anyone in my family. Hoping that they fix this or put it back to the way the Voice recognition use to be.
Totally agree. I can't get it to respond successfully since the last update. It doesn't seem to be able to find any address.

Just noticed that this is dated April 2022. I wonder why I got an email notification? I did this update last year.

For some reason, the latest update fails to install on my 2022 SX Prestige. I have the Nov 2021 SW currently installed. Get an error "The vehicle system update unsuccessful". Anybody else seen this before.
I got a USB Thumb drive in the mail for a "navigation update" Tried 4 times, each time is comes back with "Update Unsuccessful"

Same. I just stopped trying to update. I'll update the old way the next time there is an update.

I have a 22 and never done this. Would you guys say it is worth it?

Honestly, no. I do it just to stay current but the changes are minuscule. Especially if you use CarPlay, you won’t even notice the changes.

Only reason I did it because I had a problem with voice commands for navigation...so no the upgrade is not necessary

I forgot… The reason I did it the last time was because the head unit wouldn’t go to some screens. For example, it would go to CarPlay and the home screens with settings but couldn’t change the radio stations unless you used the steering wheel controls. The update fixed everything, eliminating a trip to the dealer.

The only tempting thing for me is potentially upgrading for full android auto screen ability like car play has. But still not sure it's worth the hassle.

Guess I was lucky, I just updated to get new map info. No problems at all except for how long it took. Just took a nice long drive and took care of some errands. Been installed for a week and no issues thus far.

Probably not luck. I figure sw upgrade problems happen to way less than .01% of the Tellys, it is just those are the ones that you read about here.

How do we validate it got updated? I left it over night cause it was taking forever. What should the map version be after the update?

That is current (May 2023 version).

To everyone posting here, note this is the thread for the update that was released spring 2022. It has been superseded several times over now.

the new media upgrade of my telluride How do I go back to the original what to have my radio and navigation

I love the radio tubes. They disappeared after performing the latest update. How can I get them back? Every dealership I've contacted doesn't have a clue.
They are long gone. They went away with the update from three years ago this thread is about.

I couldn’t care less. Built in Nav is never as good as what’s on your phone. The only benefit is turns show on HUD which I guess makes it less stressful for the longer trips because nothing is updated as quick as maps, google maps or Waze. I don’t see the point why manufacturers continue to put money into supplying this.
What about those people who don't carry their phone on them all the time like me?

I think its just a US thing, my car is a 2024 from the Middle East with the latest software and still has the tubes, I have seen other 2025 KIAs as well and they all still have the tubes.

If I had to guess, its a US legal thing that probably forced them to remove that design. Maybe someone has the rights to that design or something, who knows, but KIA definitely knows that its a feature people like and they wouldn't remove it from the US market unless they had too.
