  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... May Telluride KFOS Acceptance

Yup! This is correct, at least with my dealer. The sale persons don’t knows the status of an order or how many orders they have until they ask the person(s) in charge of the orders.
It's funny because I already knew I wanted the car, the sales person didn't have to sell me on anything. So when I was in the local dealership and the sales person had to keep going back and forth with the guy at the computer building the order I was thinking to myself, "just let me go sit down with that guy behind the computer, he knows what's going on here." 😅

🥤🍿.... I’m just sitting back so proud that people understand the full process.. nice to see people actually informed through this forum.

@Butch Cassidy I’ll post here if they open up a special KFOS allocation later this month for 22’s

Stephen, may I suggest a sticky thread dedicated to KFOS monthly updates So people, including myself, don’t have to keep looking for updates?

normally a thread is at the top of the top.. but being we are in limbo is why nothing to report..

A thread will be made of 22 changes and when Kia tells us additional information on allocation I will post..

Feel free to follow me to see latest details without having to search

I see. I did bookmark couple of your posts, thx

I think reaching out once a week to your sales person and just asking for an update is not being overly aggressive. However, as was pointed out above, it may not be that they "are lying to you" it may simply be that they themselves do not really know or understand how the process works because all they do is deal with the customer and all the other stuff is handle elsewhere by a completely different person/department. So don't be surprised if you were to ask "Has my order been picked up by KFOS?" and your salesperson not have a clue what you are talking about. In his defense he took your order handed it to the "order person" and got a sheet back that said "Submitted successfully" In his world, he's done his part, you just need to wait.

And to some degree he's correct, even if he told you the order was picked up, it's not coming to the dealer any sooner than it's going to be there. Sure it would be nice to know, but it's not going to change the timeline or the process at all.

So my best advice would be to check in weekly with limited expectations, and just wait. Continue to watch Failcat for your order configuration under your dealer and then ask Stephen to track it with your initials to confirm it's yours. That's about the best you can do really.
Thanks you guys! Your replies are calming my nerves a little. I will just wait.

@StephenCantrelle Do you think we will see some 2022 Model information come out soon? I don't expect any big changes, but I am still very interested to see what, if anything, is altered.

I honestly thought we already would have information... can be released any day I suppose..

This is good insight from other members. Based on what I've learned from this forum here's how I've been tracking things since placing my order with a dealer on April 21:

Since they're the only dealer I'm aware of selling below MSRP and I've seen only positive reviews they have a sizable backlog. At the time they said it would likely be 6-8 months. When I checked on May 3 I was the 35th SX in line to be picked up. Failcat shows Kia has been producing approximately 6 SX's per month for my dealer so I'm presuming that's roughly the equivalent of their monthly allocation.

At this point I'm left with watching Failcat tracking the rate SX VIN's have been assigned for my dealer. And every two weeks or so I'll send my salesperson an email for an update on the queue. At the present rate I'm tracking toward a seven month order to delivery timeline unless a factory closure to retool for '22 models pushes it out, or increased production shortens it. The Forum consensus seems to be only '22 models will be produced if picked up by Kia at this point.

My SX from Muncie will have taken right at 6 months if it delivers on schedule next month. Cant remember the exact number of SX's that were ahead of me when I ordered from Lucas but it was in the 30's.

Hi @StephenCantrelle, As per discussion with my Dealer he says they are placing order for 2021... but what I understand based on this forum discussions we are not placing orders for 2021 and it would be for 2022...

is it good idea to hold on until we hear something about 2022 and order one
or
place an order now and anyway it would be built with 2022 only

thanks & appreciate your inputs.

If you are ready to get a Telluride then put order in now. Reason being if you wait a few weeks then you are running risk others will place orders and delay your wait time more..

I would put order in because each dealer will have to call clients either way to go over any changes to see if you would like to adjust their order.
