• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My experience towing 4200lb RV trailer with. 2020 S AWD

great info and great photos... can you provide any information about the WDH and wireless BC you chose? (make/model)

my 2020 EX with the factory tow package only has the 4-pin connector, so I have more work to do on the vehicle side.

Thanks!!

Hi,

I have a Husky centerline 32215 WDH and the Echo wireless brake controller. My 2020 EX did not come with the tow package. I bought the 7 pin harness from Kia and had it installed by Uhaul.

I have a 2021 Telluride SX with Towing Package that includes 7 pin trailer connecter. I read ?? somewhere ?? the Curt Echo brake controller was not compatible but no reason why. Any Experience??
Hi Gene,
I've got a '21 Telluride with factory towing and have been pulling a 2020 Wolf Pup 16fq travel trailer since the purchase.
Installed a WDH to distribute weight better and love it. Pulls great and have never had an issue.
Use an Echo Bluetooth brake controller that works perfectly with a 3500 pound trailer.

did you ever do any mountains?

we are using our 2022 Telluride S this summer for a road trip from Texas to Wyoming towing a trailer that's 3700 23 ft. We never have hauled a trailer or used our Telluride in this way. The rv rental people say we can tow it but I am not sure especially since it's so much mountains. And it's a 4000 mile trip. Just don't want to ruin our engine.

Hey there, Ive been towing with the Tellie for 2 years, a 20', and lets say 3900lbs wet weight. I use a blue ox WDH. Ive had no issues but I feel its a little hard on the brakes, motor and tranny. Its not a vehicle for major towing but I find it preforms well towing in this weight range, never felt under powered (except once towing at a 4000' elevation). I just had it in for service and the alignment was off which I think was due to it being jerked around during tows. Just remember to keep as close to your dry weight as possible, once you load up the trailer, it can add a lot of extra weight. On paper the Tellie is 500lb hitch weight and 5000lbs tow capacity however I would never want to get close to 5000lbs in my opinion.

Towed a 19 foot 3000 lb dry, 4000 lb loaded trailer in Colorado and Grand Canyon last summer. No issues. I second G-136879's suggestion about keeping an eye on loaded weight. We avoided traveling with full holding tanks or fresh water, for example.

Candace, how did your trip go and any issues driving thru the mountains? I am looking to.buy a dry 3740 trailer and will tow now and then to lake tahoe? Did u feel any strain on engine or transmission and any lack of power? Thank you

Hello there, I wanted to reach out to you and ask how the trawler did thru the mountains going up to 6000 ft.
I'm in Sacramento and will occasionally tow to Tahoe 6200 ft.
What was your traitor sitting at dry? I'm looking to purchase roughly a 3800lbs dry and then add 350 lbs of people. I'm skeptical because fully loaded with gear looking at close to 4500 ish lbs. Whats your opinion? How did ur telluride handle? Thank you much

Thanks for the reports... I have a 2021 with tow package and a No Bo 19.5 trailer on order. Considering the Andersen WDH. Light weight, easy hitch and disconnect , good reviews... Does anyone have experience with the Andersen. WDH??
Thanks.
Gene
Hello,
Have u towed your trailer yet and how did ur vehicle do? Did u add any weight to the trailer if so how much do u think it weight when towed? 4300lbs? Please let me know

Has anyone towed a 16-19 foot fishing boat with their Tellie? I have a 2022 SX with the self leveling shocks.

For those wondering, OEM hitch and 7-pin plug installation was easy and did not require specialty tools beyond a jack and jackstands. There is an existing female receptacle for the OEM 7-pin plug on the driver's side. Total project time was about 2 hours, but I was moving slow. I used this video as a guide.
